Project Reincarnation - Toyota Carina E, 1.8 L, 1997
The article is constantly updated with news, such as a logbook - stay tuned :)
So, after a month of contemplation at the extremely shabby appearance of the car, a two-week work in Moscow, searching for iron for disassembly, sending everything purchased home, today everything finally arrived by PEC in Ulsk!
I hope that everything bought without any problems will fit on the car, and will not present any thread of unpleasant surprises - after all, hardware from right-handed cars ...
On Monday I drive the car to the station, where it will not only be replaced with everything it needs for bodywork, but will also be completely repainted. and in 2 colors, along the way I will make her Shumka and other previously conceived things!
Yesterday I dismantled almost the entire interior, after which the balcony of my favorite apartment temporarily became similar to the aforementioned disassembly)))
In short, the matter finally got off the ground!
Hands are itching to carry out everything that was planned as soon as possible, and finally to go out onto the roads of the city not in a pokotsy form, causing only compassion, but in a reborn, bright sho kick and attracting admiring glances! :)
Like that :) I'll keep it up to date and accompany it with pictures if possible :)
Continuation ... June 15 ...
In short, in the morning I come to the service, where I was a month ago and where I agreed to be repaired ... I thought I would leave the wheelbarrow and rushed off ... Yeah - left blah ... It turns out a dude with whom we climbed around the car for almost an hour last time - examined everything and everything, they figured out the volume of work and discussed all the financial points ... I remember exactly that the price list for work without glands was announced in 42-45 pieces, this is work and a complete painting of the ALL car, and in 2 colors ... Sednya he recognized me with great difficulty, and then for about 10 minutes I was foaming at the mouth and arguing that he only voiced the above figure to me for the crippled side ... Then he added that I bought a new, but Taiwanese wing and a bumper dick, because you put it in a fuss and half of the seats finally doesn't match ... Mandets blah ...
There was a wild desire to tell him everything that I think about him personally and about his office, to which, by the way, his colleague and my acquaintance called me, who at that moment stood with a not very smart face and could not say anything intelligible ...
I was running out of time, maybe through the client should drive up for half an hour, so I didn’t start dogging and postponed the dialogue to the next day ...
In the evening, having freed myself, I decided to remove the torn wing and try on a new one in its place ... still the bumper is all skewed, and a bunch of pieces of iron bent ...
In general, tomorrow I'll take off the fucking bumper and try on a new one ...
Once again I come to the conclusion, if you want to do well, do it yourself! So I will do, at least what I am able to do myself ...
In short, like this ... Now it just rushed! :)
PS While I'm looking for a normal master, I'll make the ceiling noise :)
Continuation ... June 17 ...
In general, I found a normal master who did not twist his hands and fill his own worth! Many service workers know him and give very high marks to his work. Which of the local need coordinates.
In short, in the evening I drove the car to his house, and while he was dealing with another client, I safely removed both bumpers, all the optics, the wing, and gutted the door stuffing, which were then removed together ...
The bumper amplifier turned out to be so rotten that it practically crumbled into dust ... searching ...
To be continued ... June 18 ...
Popped in to the master, brought in a bumper amplifier bought at a local dismantling from Kaldina's right-handed person ...
Along the way I thought Shumka to work out for a couple of hours ... As a result, Shumka was pushed back later, maybe they began to try on and hang the doors :) The iron got almost perfect! I now have port side again! :)
Continuation ... June 21 ...
Damn, I would rather be on Wednesday, impatient to look at the results of 4 days of picking to fit the iron, straighten it and prepare it for painting!
Now I will definitely remove the entire torpedo, glue the engine shield and the floor as soon as I can. In addition, you still need to get rid of the old signaling, and try to mount a new one. In short, I planned things above the roof :)
It is difficult to judge how straight the wing will be, but so far there have been no special problems. In addition, his one fig was removed along with the bumper and doors.
Added 1 post ...
So, in the end, everything turned out to be normal on the wing with the mounts, or in fact, half does not match?
At the doors, by the way, gaps may go away after installation, as I had. It is not necessary to remove the wing for adjustment, just remove the front wheel and unscrew the mudguard and half of the wheel arch liner - you will get access to the hinges. The back is adjustable in the B-pillar. It is necessary to remove the lower plastic panel and seat belt. Take it out more carefully only from the rack, there is a long squib.
Yes, I can't wait myself ... On Friday, they hung the doors and the wing, it got almost perfect - this is still without final adjustment ... The master has been adjusting everything and preparing the surfaces for painting during these days, so I'm waiting for Wednesday :) At the same time, I'll glue the floor with the motor shield: )
