Vacation Preparation (Part 1) - Toyota Corolla, 1.3L, 1998
Two days in the garage - and you just start to hate the car! !
As always, I reached the very end, I have to go on vacation and deal with the car above the roof! And two in a row from morning until late evening had to be spent in the garage.
In general, this is what was done:
- convergence disorder (at the station), now the steering wheel looks straight)))
- replaced the alternator belt
- replaced the belt of the air conditioner and power steering
- changed the oil
- changed the oil filter
- changed the fuel filter
- washed and cleaned the throttle
- replaced the air filter
- replaced the cabin filter
- changed the light bulbs in the tidy
- put deflectors on the windows
- adjusted the rear brakes
- washed the car from butum stains and cleaned the interior
- "greased" the chips on the body and slightly polished the wheelbarrow
I bought it with soundproofing, but there was not enough time, in the coming days I will continue ...

there is nothing to be afraid of, everything can be unscrewed simply and clearly. You just have to be careful with the plastic fasteners. In general, he unscrewed four mounting bolts, removed all the hoses, the gas cable, the xx sensor, disassembled the case, washed it with Vince carburetor cleaning fluid. There was no dirt at all inside, in some places there was a small plaque in the hives, but since I took it apart, I cleaned it. The last time I washed it about a year ago.
Wow, you need to look at yours - even a thought did not arise. Did you regulate the valves? I grew up after running 5000 km. gasoline sang loudly.
Wow choke) that's what it is! We should probably soon raskurochit own)!
Good luck on your vacation track and good rest!

In! As if I wanted to clean the throttle even before the vacation. How is the process? Where to start, what to fear?
I didn't quite understand the question. You mean the brake pads or the handbrake cable? If about the pads, then you need to remove the drum itself, in the upper part there is a brake cylinder, which spreads the pads and presses them against the drum itself. Below it is the retaining spring. The tight fit of the pads is regulated by it, there is a toothed nut. The handbrake cable is adjusted from the passenger compartment (it is necessary to disassemble the gearshift lever console and the armrest)
How does it all look like this)
It can be easily disassembled - removed (difficulties may arise if only the drum is heavily oiled from temperature or rust). Buy or download on the Internet a book about Corolla 97-01gg, everything is described there about the repair of all units. I don't have a book in electronic form, there is only an ordinary paper one. Go to the website corolla.ws see the section about corolla e11 (repair and maintenance)
oo thanks, maybe if you twist the drum then it will slow down better? And then I press the brake, the front is blocked but the rear is not (Is the drum easy to disassemble and assemble? Are there any nuances in disassembly?
