Do-it-yourself vinyl - Toyota Corolla, 1.6 liter, 2001
A mirror broken in winter left in red tape for six months, and finally a new Taiwanese electric heater was found to replace it for 2170 rubles. + 400 rub. delivery. Naturally black for painting. Having found out the prices for painting one part, I decided to wrap the mirror in a 3D carbon look vinyl film. And along with it, another mirror, a rear spoiler, a license plate frame and a front bumper skirt ...
After wandering around the net, the choice fell on MxP (maxplus) film, compared to 3M it has slight advantages, and the price is slightly lower. Plus, a linear meter has a width of 152 cm.
So far, hands have only reached the skirt of the front bumper ...
the film refreshed the appearance of the part and hid operational defects: cracks and scratches
.
and to the frame of the rear license plate ...
If you manage to remove the rear spoiler (yesterday he didn’t shoot something, I was afraid to break the caps), I will soon post pictures of pasting it ... Well, then my hands will reach the mirrors.
MaxiPlus film is good for gluing simple, flatter parts, and on embossed ones it starts to peel off from the sun, slowly but surely. I hope you don't have this. In general, well done. left gifts
With mirrors hang up. I went to the office for wrapping films, it turned out to fit, but when the film was cut off, it all shrank, they say the features of the film under carbon. Will have to paint the left mirror in body color.
Yes, and the rear spoiler is difficult on my own, while I drive with it tightened by 3 plus. It's embarrassing to post pics.
And so everything is OK.
pulled in one piece?
normal hair dryer bends?
And did you make cuts so that it folds evenly?
otherwise I also decided to cover it with the same film today. didn't work out very well
I did it in one piece, in some places I made cuts, but I tried without them. Corners are difficult to make beautiful. There is one more secret - you can heat it with a lighter, but be careful not to burn it. And then immediately bend and hold for a long time until it cools down. Protect your hands from burns.
In general, a year later, I decided to remove the film from the rear spoiler and license plate frame, but I glued the wiper leashes.
