Ambush :( - Toyota Corolla Levin, 1.6 liter, 1998
This morning I'm going to work - and after a jerk from the next traffic light, the "check engine" lights up with an unpleasant red light.
This is the first time this has happened to me, so I quickly pull over to the side of the road, press the emergency button and instinctively crawl under the hood. I notice an unpleasant hiss, which at first baffles me - it turns out to be nothing supernatural - a puncture of the front left wheel.
After replacing the "dokatku" naturally "check engine" did not go out — but thanks to him in time to notice a puncture. There are also coincidences :)
At the moment we have - a leaky wheel, a burning "check engine" and floating idle speeds in the range of 1000-1500 rpm.
Everything is simple with the wheel, but with the rest I will deal with it in the evening, in the garage.
Krasnoyarsk has its own group of Levin growers, but I don't know anyone there. I came across them by chance on the gtextreme.ru forum, when I was looking for components for a swap, but I haven’t talked in real life yet. And in such a case, you need a proven person, as you said, exactly "one of your own."
If I rearrange the engine within the allotted time, I will make inquiries, look for competent people, listen to opinions and learn mat. part :) After all, doing something yourself is much more interesting than using someone else's hands. For the sake of this, in general, everything is started - otherwise you can stupidly buy another car and not bathe. It will be cheaper and faster.
I meant not someone else's uncle, but someone of my own.
In Krasnoyarsk, are there levin growers versed in internal combustion engines who can be trusted?
Precisely - exciting, but damn interesting! ;)
Of course you can ask and agree. But if you take it apart, it makes sense to immediately repair it. And in order for me to be sure that everything will turn out to be of high quality, you need to delve into each stage of disassembly / assembly. Plus, I want to put not stock parts, but whatever is more interesting. Now, without little experience, knowledge in the internal combustion engine and relying on someone else's uncle, it will take me a lot of time to find the right information and the actual spare parts. I just can't pull it off while getting ready for the swap. Therefore, I decided to at least put it - and we'll see :)
and not whom to ask to help? see, evaluate the state?
eh ... this is an exciting activity - swap)
I really hope it stays alive. But hope is a stupid feeling, and, alas, I have not yet grown up to climb inside and assess the state on my own. Therefore, it will be possible to say for sure only after installation.
Wow! Sevastopol, and even autoexotics — it's great :) You have a photo report! ;)
I had to buy the engine "in the dark", through intermediaries, but it seems like straight from Japan.
swap is the right thing!)
I expect in August to start preparing for the process. Here in Sevastopol we will roll up to Autoexotics and start looking for a new engine)
Yes, I figured it out with the check - it’s the muddler’s fault :) After cleaning the throttle valve block, I didn’t stick the connector on the throttle position sensor until it clicked. And he took it a month later and bounced back. Because of this, and the check caught fire and the speed swam.
And Levka is preparing for a blacktop swap :) Together with him, we have reached the finish line in the training camp - according to the plan, we start in three weeks;) Pah-pah ... :)
