TRD speedometer — logbook Toyota Supra 1998

Actually lying around at home tidy from another supra and caught my eye one evening when there was nothing to do. climbed into the guts of the speedometer, it shows in stock from 0 to 180 mph, in fact, all JDM cars have such a thing, 280hp maximum and 180 mph cutoff in speed. It's a shame, I thought, maybe the car goes easily 250-270. There are ready-made solutions from TRD, only the speedometer costs 15 tr new, and the used one is 8-10. So I dug through the guts and it turned out that it was possible to remake them for 0-320 km / h, which I did in the end, I took a picture of the scale and printed it on a color laser printer. checked on GPS — not lying, they are lying but no more than stock. the only so far invincible joint — when you turn on the backlight, it shines through and does not look very good. there are 2 options either to make thick paper as a basis, or to translate the picture into a format understandable to the plotter and cut everything out of some kind of mega oak film.

How did you change the speedometer? Soldered resistance?

need to be redone. it is necessary to understand, those in 3 minutes to twist-twist-solder will not work out exactly. Yes, and according to the photo, this is also not treated. I need the tidy in my hands, and as a result of the experiment, its complete death is possible, only with such conditions

and at least what this converter looked like is there a photo? or for example, I will take detailed photos of my tidy and you can indicate the direction? Is there a twist or something to solder?

at 81 I have an electronic scoreboard. I didn’t deal with him at all, it doesn’t look like Suprov’s at all.

by the way, my speedometer doesn’t work at all, it always seems to be 0. cable sensor in the box. in tidy under 3 wire. so it didn't work.

Can you be more specific about where to turn? especially now you also have 81)
damn it, I regret that I don’t understand anything in electrics ... I read about these constants, and I didn’t understand anything at all ...

no. there is a frequency-voltage converter, changed the time constant of the RC circuit and voila.
the resistor does not scan, since there are two windings in the device itself - one moves the arrow clockwise, the other counterclockwise (as the car can slow down faster than the arrow goes back). The winding currents are controlled by a microcircuit.

Yeah. necroposting) but infa will come in handy) printed on a plotter, or rather cut on a film. back then it was a rarity. traveled to distant lands

what did you print on? Drive to the printing industry, they made me like plastic straight, hard. But the clearance is still superfluous, there is a “toning” behind the regular ones for a reason.
UPDATE
Drive highlighted the post for me as fresh)) hah, and he is already 7 years old
