Multimedia Phantom (Internet, TV, DVD, Phone, Navi, Rear view camera) — Toyota Corolla, 1.6 liter, 2008
After the invasion of drug addicts, I decided to hide the wires under the ceiling lining so as not to confuse the eyes of thieves.
Started by taking apart the sun visors. As it turned out later, this is the most difficult and difficult part of the work. Moreover, they are difficult not only to disassemble, but also to assemble. OK. He took it off, and you can say he tore it out of anger. I lost my screwdriver and while looking for it I came across a recorded phone number of Phantom representatives in Kazan a year ago. Called just to get a price. They called me back and called 33t.r. I scratched the back of my head and said I'd come take a look. I arrived. Looked. I think: we need to think it over and make a decision tomorrow. But an hour later I ordered a color rear-view camera with markings (3t.r.) and an active TV antenna with a signal amplifier (5t.r.).
Came home and got everything and took a picture.
Work on hiding the wires was temporarily suspended. Now, in order to make a hole for the antenna, it was necessary to remove the entire ceiling. Then I removed the handles on the ceiling, the seals on the doors, the casings of six racks — in general, everything propped up the ceiling. And at the same time I had to dismantle what prevented us from removing what was supporting the ceiling. And so dismantled almost the entire interior. And since I don’t have a garage, all the interior trim parts were lying around in the cabin itself and in the trunk - which led to confusion and the inability to find the right tool.
There was no big drill. I decided to make a lot of small holes. I tried not to put pressure on the roof. I made a hole, smeared the bottom of the antenna with sealant, put the wires in and screwed it on from the inside with a nut. Then I pulled the wires astride to the front and above the steering column to the head. Phantom is a competent head: there is a connector for powering the active antenna.
Thank you. I like it myself. It is convenient to chat on the phone via bluetooth. I plan to order buttons on the steering wheel so as not to be distracted from the road.
There should be no corrosion - I smeared it with paint, and then also with sealant.
Garage is not needed. It will only rust. And so always under the window. And you don't have to drive. The security of the yard has been improved. So let it always be there.
Thanks for the praise.
At the expense of a pity for the roof just now thinking. Apparently, the desire to install all this was so strong that he did not even think about it. I took a sewing meter from my wife so as not to scratch the roof - and this is all a pity. And he drilled evil because it was inconvenient to stand on the back doorstep. But carefully.
Buddy — buy a garage, otherwise it's not the case to scatter everything in the cabin! ! ! And of course, work for 5+, by the way, was it a pity to drill the roof of the corolla yourself?
Krasava, but I did not dare to drill a hole for an external antenna, I left the one that came in the load. One hell in our over rough terrain and the radio sometimes disappears.
Well, how do you like the device. I like it, the only thing that is inconvenient is how it distributes files on the SD card, it would be better if it was scattered in folders, and I have been using the fairy tale for 8 months now. Here the ratings are no longer put down - I'll throw it on the main one - good luck on the roads
Too bad you don't have a camera yet. Personally, after selling the date, which had my own camera, I got used to this convenience, well, I decided to put it on the Corolla. So it was all because of the camera. Very comfortable when reversing. The markings are correct and you know where you won't hit. But I learned about 1GB of internal memory from you. Thank you.
Darovo! Tell me, I don’t have multimedia buttons on the steering wheel, I bought a phantom, they are included
Yes, it's convenient. The roof was carefully drilled. This looks like atrocity. There are TV antennas that are glued to the glass, but they almost do not catch. So I stuck it on the roof. So even more or less.
The camera is very handy. prus from this device.
and it’s a pity for the cover, a hole, and even an antenna from there, I always liked that the radio antenna in the glass on the Corolla.
Hi, well, I'll just say great! And when you removed the trim of the front pillars, did they easily come off for you or did you cut off the upper piston?
