ATL-trophy-2010: briefly, but visually - Toyota Land Cruiser, 3.0 liter, 1978
My hands are aching for the third day ... the bites of huge gadflies are blurring and itching on my head ... black dirt does not want to be scratched out from under the nails ... I can only think about the three days spent surrounded by the same abnormal ones ... as evil is full of all sorts of very important questions at work ... but already I seem to have slept off ... what's next for us? ..
But the muse has not returned yet, and so far something related has not been written. Therefore, photos and some of my comments
ATL-trophy turned out to be of high quality. Of the 20 declared, 18 crews started in TP1. According to the results of three days, 5 cars left. Our result could have been better, but on the first day of the prologue, the navigator got a dose of fresh rain at the starting line and struggled with fever and other manifestations of a cold the whole second day, and on the third day we had to finish three hours after the start - Slava completely fell apart. As a result, we took 8th place. Just like on MegaHard.
On the first day of the prologue, a funny idea of the orgs with collecting helium filled balloons, accompanied by a quality half-hour downpour at the start and the subsequent sun and rainbow at the finish line. We took two points, but due to my mistake with scoring points, instead of the third, we came to the finish line. We decided to save Lemonade Joe's resource for further tests and finished. Due to this, they took third place in the prologue. They were quite surprised. True, a day later we were already fourth. Apparently, it took a long time to process the results ...
The second day is an incorrectly chosen tactic plus adrenaline and we are looking for the first point for more than an hour and a half. Have taken. Let's go to the second, third ... and oops! The third point of the ambush - in the direction of the exit, only reeds and sedge, and the last four meters are marshy, greasy mud. We go back, we take:
But we’ve been fiddling with the exit for two hours: send tracks, hi-jack, complete unloading of the body, burying the send track as an anchor, hi-jack again ... The last iteration was as follows: a send track buried half a meter into the ground moves slowly and stubbornly in the direction of the forty, and on it rides two rigging boxes, a spare wheel, a package of mineral water, and Slava and I. It’s a pity there was no one to take a picture of ... And Lemonade Joe, sitting on the bridges and anchored by springs, stands like Chelyuskin in the ice.
After two hours of continuous attempts, I with the words "Glory, we are doing something wrong!" I take a smoke break / Slava, looking around, says: "Maybe that bush will help us out?"
It's necessary! About 100 meters from us grows something more than a swamp reed, and we did not even go to it!
We unwind the cable, a couple of extensions, a couple of lines and ... the bush shrunk into a broom, but survived. We paid dearly for our lack of observation...
And then there was everything: a ford, in the right rut of which Slava was belly-deep, and in the left "on the boobs", and steps at the exit the size of a forty wheel, and wonderful trembling like cherry jelly soil, and a friend's bumper, for which you can catch , although almost 200 meters of extension cords are already strung out on the ground. In one ford we were sitting next to Pinz-Gower - a funny neighborhood, the guys filmed it on video, when I find it, I'll post the link.
And there were also friends and colleagues with whom it was sometimes possible to share without words what you experienced and overcame today. And it's such a thrill, I'll tell you, to be among these crazy people, that everything else doesn't matter. At least this evening.
And I also know that I will still want to return to this river ...

Eh))) I want more))
This is good, so there will be a reason to see you in a rut.
Welcome back!
The photos and comments are amazing as always.
ps/ waiting for the muse;)
Eh ... beauty)) It’s a pity that I don’t have my own tank, I participated with pleasure
Oh, I was also sitting there on one of the TR-3 points on a bump with a camera) I'll post pictures)
Here, for example: shop.offroadmaster.com/
But such a price is possible only if you wait and are transported through Poland. In England, the price for them is generally fabulous, something about 120 pounds.
These sendreks have a lot of advantages: weight, strength, roughness… Minus the price. And also use in sticky soil: so much "jam" is stuffed into the waffle cell that it is not possible to lift it.
We sell about 250-270 usd for a 220 cm pair.
I see plastic tracks! Thing! True, I haven’t seen such ones here ... Are they
expensive for you?
Okay, the photos really could have been more dramatic, but usually at this moment my hands are busy, and the navigator's are dirty and wet up to their ears.
