Dimming optics - Toyota Carina, 2.0 liter, 1996
Previous story: There were deep scratches on the left headlight, and since you can’t just polish the glass, I decided to take a contact headlight for 800r with a broken mount, and rearrange the glass itself, at the same time turn the bulbs so that they don’t blind, and at the same time it was decided to paint them a little .
Was purchased: matte paint, black sealant, masking tape.
I dismantled Faro with the help of a building hair dryer and screwdrivers, only you need to be more careful so as not to leave chips on the glass. Then I washed them from dirt, degreased them, sealed them and painted them in 3 layers. And the question arose which sealant to use because black was needed so that the seam would not be noticeable. I went shopping and found a Russian sealant for 20 rubles, at first I doubted whether it was worth buy, but still decided to try. The result is already six months and no hints of moisture.
But with the turn signals, everything turned out much more interesting. The fact is that their seam is glued and the hair dryer is no longer an assistant here. But it was too late to retreat and it was decided to dismember it using a special cutter on plastic, which was successfully done. degreased, painted and glued with glue at the moment transparent. The turn signal turned out to be completely sealed, which I am incredibly happy about!
