Capital and other adventures :) — Toyota Celica, 1.8 liter, 2001

It all started innocently, the check just caught fire, I already talked about this. The scanner returned a WWT system error.

At first, I was in no hurry to solve the problem, because of the acute financial insufficiency for that ... But since. this problem could have arisen because of the timing chain and the motor was eating up oil, we decided to capitalize the motor and replace the chain. Bought liners, rings, repair kits, chain, well, hydrach with a thermostat between times. And we went to the garage.
The first thing that was found during the disassembly of the engine is the sealant on the head gasket. There were two options: either the collective farmers were collecting, or the engine was boiling. As a result, it turned out that some collective farmers assembled the engine on an old gasket. :( Well, the further conclusion that the engine had already been opened was also not encouraging.
It’s more fun, the liners were taken out, we can say that there were “almost no” already, the knee was already sharpened, the repair size was one ... they took the repair liners, installed them, assembled the engine, poured in thicker oil so that they rubbed in better, started it up! The motor worked well right away. Worked smoothly, did not boil. But the check didn't clear.
I did all possible repairs to make it go out, except for the replacement of the WWT clutch, for which there was simply no money at that time.
I drove more than 150 km in my beloved city, the car behaved well. And I decided to go run my girl on the track, I left for the glorious city of Omsk (650 km from Novosibirsk one way). Gathered a council of mechanics before the trip, the majority of votes it was decided to go :). I drove there at the wheel, constantly kept 2000 rpm, did not exceed 3000 when overtaking. We arrived perfectly, the oil level was in order. On the way back, a good friend of mine got behind the wheel, and considering that a thousand (almost) have already been run, you can overtake more than 3000 on overtaking. Again, there were no problems along the way.
We arrived in Novosibirsk, refueled at Transservice, parked the car and went home. The nightmare started in the morning...
I started the car and the engine just started jumping out from under the hood. The situation was further aggravated by problems with two engine mounts. The picture was simply indescribable - the engine jumps out, the speed jumps (not much within 100), when you try to move off, the engine starts to stall, then even more fun when driving, the idle valve clearly started to fail, when braking, there were funny failures that it seemed that the car would not stop )))
For a while, they did not start repairs, they found out that when the engine was fully warmed up, it stopped troiting, it traveled like that for some time.
Then, they began to guess :) We changed the candles, changed one dead ignition coil, washed the injectors, washed the idle valve ... and what do you think happened? But nothing)))) the car continued to troit all the same ...
There are no options other than the WWT clutch. Well, I bought the clutch after all. As it turned out later, another spare part related to the clutch broke, the mechanic showed it to me, but didn’t say what it’s called))) it looks like a thing that measures the pressure in the clutch, or maybe I’m wrong.
AND! LTD! WONDERFUL! They brought the whole thing and it does not troit and the check went out!
The next day - DO NOT TROIT!
And on the third day, she also does not troit!
The engine began to work noticeably better, it sounds a hundred times nicer, it rides noticeably better.
I forgot to add that upon arrival in Omsk the oil level was good, but upon arrival in Novosibirsk I had to add 500-700g of oil, apparently due to the fact that a little more was heated on the way back.
Now she hardly eats oil, at the second replacement she poured her own oil for the summer, the machine is clearly very happy about this :) I know that when reading the phrase “almost does not eat oil”, a thought will arise; “Why almost ?, she shouldn’t eat it at all, because all the rubber bands have changed!”. But it’s not true :) I can confidently say that it doesn’t flow anywhere, because. on the pavement where she constantly stands, perfectly dry. But during the grinding of new parts, a slight “biting of oil” is normal :).
Here is such a long history of one check. Yeah, I had to spend money, but for my favorite car, I don’t feel sorry for anything! And now I know 100% of her condition, and I'm sure that the engine is now definitely in order :). Then only tunics are waiting for us;)
