Chapter 3 paragraph 2 — logbook Toyota Mark II 1985
Bulkhead 1G-EU.
And before the start of the story, I would like to thank my friend Hafa , if not for him, I think I would not have dared to disassemble the engine alone, Thank you so much!
Okay let's get started.
Perhaps I'll start by explaining why we decided to sort it out. Yes, everything is very simple, as it turned out later, the radiator of the previous owner practically did not work due to the fact that it had an xD fan imprint. Well, the engine overheated constantly, this made the cylinder head smoothing (cylinder head) unusable. And she let it flow
And now, in order of analysis, maybe we had a book for Mark, but alas, not for mine, but for the 90th))) we used it in exceptional cases. They began to disconnect the wires and pipes and immediately swore, because the stupid gas equipment was connected everywhere, it spread like ivy under the hood.
We set about removing the rail with injectors and then, as my friend puts it, the first “sadness†didn’t look like sadness, rather it was sadness, we broke the cap at the nozzle (((when we removed the exhaust manifold, it turned out that there was not enough extreme stud with a bolt. They removed the spreader, and when they proceeded directly to the head of the block, they remembered that they needed a torque wrench, in general, we went to PI-PI after it.
They took off the head and podofigeli, oil in the antifreeze, carbon deposits on the valves such that they have already become white. I am silent about light soot on the pistons) We began to decide how we should clean it all G, I bought all the bodyagi in the store, took my head home in a bag. I don’t want anyone to carry their head on their own hump in the subway))) I cleaned it, cleaned it, didn’t really clean it, bought different nozzles for a drill and grinder, brought the head back to a friend))) we decided to try it with a grinder, but at the first start they changed their minds because it’s like some kind of animal. We decided to leave this fool for cutting KAMAZ trucks and bridges across the Neva))) They took something easier, but it turned out to be a brush nozzle for a drill. She then we cleaned everything, a wonderful thing!
Naturally, in parallel with all these procedures, I ordered manifold gaskets, an air filter, an oil filter and one clutch for existential. it is also dying. Everything else was inherited from the previous owner, or rather the cylinder head gasket) After cleaning the cylinder head, we decided to dry out the valves in order to look at them. We bought a cracker and let's crack it))) Surprisingly, together everything turned out to be very easy and fast. We made a stray in order to blow the nozzles out of the nozzle for silicone sealant for the bath. You can see in the pictures) if I can, then I'll throw a video.
I called Lopatkin about the nozzle, he said that I drove up with a sample. A week later, somewhere we went to him, but broke off because he left for Vladivostok. I wrote to him by mail, said that he would arrive in a week. Well, I think while I'm waiting I'll look for other showdowns, I've covered the whole Internet
called a bunch of numbers. And only one person said that he has the nozzles that I need. I was delighted to make an appointment, I think at the same time I will buy a radiator from him. I came to a meeting with this man, well, the fact that he was almost an hour and a half late is okay … they came to the garage, and his injectors are not the ones I need. He got a radiator, but that one is not much better than mine. He left him all in frustration, all that remained was to wait for Lopatkin. At the time of his return, we had already been sitting for several days and picking our noses because we had collected everything that could be collected before installing the nozzles.
Upon Lopatkin's arrival, I went to see him, but found him already leaving... I had to postpone my visit until the next day. Arriving at him, I rummaged through all the canisters that he had prepared for me and, alas, did not find the one that I needed, left him a nozzle so that he would look for himself the next day, I waited for three days in between, I bought a radiator from him, a friend went for the radiator, or rather he took the sample and did not think that he would immediately pick up another radiator. I didn’t check, maybe I was in a hurry and it turned out in vain, for 3 thousand rubles I bought a leaky radiator, well, you can’t turn back what was done, they decided to cover it up, cover it up honestly, you’ll tear the hell off. but it’s a bit irritating, one of these days I’ll fill in the powder, I hope it will shut it up to the end. As a result, the nozzle was never found, I spat on it, thank God the nozzle worked like that, it was decided to put this one back, because there is no other way. Ask why you didn’t order it on existential, the answer is simple, there are no extra 10 thousand rubles. They started to put these nozzles, speaking of nozzles, “sadness†number two also happened to the nozzle, I accidentally dropped it when I shifted it and a crack formed on the cap. And "sadness" number three happened when we put the rail with nozzles, the farthest nozzle flew out of the holder and fell on the asphalt, there was no crack, we lost one more cap.
When collecting, questions arose in those places in which we did not even expect ... For example, we thought there would be a hemorrhage with vacuum tubes - so they got up in their places, but got tired of installing the generator. The mechanism of its tension soured - had to be soaked.
Oh yes, while they were repairing, Akum completely sat down with me, they bought a new one. All gathered began to try to start. Does not start in any and everything. I read on the forum that people had some problems with labeling. Doing according to the instructions - if you combine 0 on the crankshaft and the mark on the camshaft - there is no compression in the cylinders. There was an assumption that the belt was stretched. As a result, they set 0 at the bottom and + 1 tooth at the top and oh, hallelujah, it started up))) (well, they also put the distributor on the 1st then on the 6th cylinder)
Flushing oil was poured into the Coca-Cola cooling system - it corrodes everything)))
I climbed under the car to drain the flushing oil, put the cut bottle under the hole, unscrewed it, drained the main part, started moving the bottle from under the car so that a friend drained it and it tip right over the head and all on my hair ...
I also had to throw earth on an oil stain on the pavement. Generally filled with oil (IDEMITSU 10W40 semi-synthetics) I left at 2 am after spending my entire birthday under the hood.
What is the most important thing to take away from the story? That's right, take care of the injectors from this engine!
Andrey (the previous owner of the car) if you are now reading this blog, then the engine sent you a fiery hello!
As for the price of the issue, alas, I didn’t save the receipts, there was a minimum of details, but I had to fork out for the tool.
PS to clean the threads on the block of cylinders, cotton ear buds were used =)
I thought that my fingers would fall off - to connect all this garbage. So report on this bullshit)
No kidding, Coca washes almost everything, especially if you let her stand so that she eats all sorts of filth. =))) So I stopped drinking it)))
They didn’t climb to the bottom, but they cleaned off the cylinder head normally) it’s just that so many pictures didn’t fit here, then maybe I’ll post a thread somewhere and send a link.
Well done! well cleaned. Have you cleaned the cylinder head too? Did they climb down?
Thank you, I already have one more head in the pantry))) and the nozzles, I will hope that they will last until the end of next summer.
Yes, it didn’t work out well with the injectors =( In general, if they fall, most likely already for a replacement. By the way, the rubber rings must be changed during the bulkhead. It was easier to remove the entire ramp with the injectors. =
By the way, I have a 1g book - if you need it - I can give it to read =D And by the way I also have a 1ug engine - if I "pump" it - I can adjust the head assembly =D
And more)) There is a satik of a St. Petersburg maniac - he's there adrilan praises

damn this motor gave up to you ... it’s better to take at least a 1G-GTE, which will fit on the subframe and into the box like a regular one
1G-GTE still try to find in normal condition, and if you find it, it costs more than a jizet

Yes, yes, I saw) I wanted to see everything in real life, but alas, I didn’t have a chance.
I agree 100%, it’s just a bit difficult with finances, I’m looking forward to finally sorting out the body this summer and then I’ll collect the engine.
