Nokian NRY - Toyota Camry, 2.4 liter, 2008
I bought a Nokian NRY in size 235/45/R17
How strange the car became softer, after Michelin Pilot Primacy 225/50, it keeps cool in the rain, it comes into turns like glued!
The result is SATISFIED! :)
Characteristics:
Manufacturer - Finland
Tire weight - 10.4 kg
Tread depth - 7.8–8.3 mm
Shore hardness - 73 units
Features - directional pattern
Price / quality ratio - 7.66
On dry pavement, the results are average - both in terms of braking and in terms of the time it takes to pass the track. The behavior of the car in critical modes is similar to the Bridgestone, but BMW behaves more clearly on Finnish tires. Nevertheless, it is not possible to maintain an even arc at a high-speed turn - the car “draws†a polygon on the asphalt: the front end periodically breaks off, then grabs the asphalt and dives inward ... In this case, an unexpected breakdown into a skid is possible, which, however, is easily parried by an “oncoming†turn of the steering wheel .
Wet brakes are very good, as is the wet run times, close to those of the Michelin leader here. The behavior of the car in extreme conditions is better than on a dry surface. Steering is generally close to neutral, although you may encounter some smeared front and rear axle slips. Clutch recovery is smooth, without sudden jerking of the car.
Hydroplaning on the straight comes earlier than all the others. And in the transverse "Nokian" lost only to "Michelin".
Comfort is similar to Michelin - the tires are quiet and soft.
Very high grip on wet surfaces, good directional stability and comfort level.
Modest resistance to longitudinal and transverse hydroplaning, dry handling remarks.

Consumption has not changed … In terms of softness, of course, which is harder, but the difference is insignificant! I realized one thing that it all depends on the rubber! On Nokian, the car became much softer than on Michelin, despite the fact that the profile is 5mm lower! :)
The view of the car is different, specific! I think your restyling will look good on 17s! ;)
.by the way, I want to ask for a long time how R-17, the consumption has increased? …how smooth compared to R-16? ...or have you already forgotten?
For 6 thousand I bought myself the 17th. I also sold the stock Yokohamu for great money! :)
Alexander, the service life of these wheels is 1.5 months. After installing them, I went silent. The profile is lower, but softer ... For me, this was a task initially, but after that I understood everything!
Excellent tires for city and sport driving, my verdict! :)
In fact, there is no doubt about the excellent choice! I myself skated Nokian tires for 2 summer seasons and before me it was still operated by a guy, one season (I bought it used) and it still behaves amazingly, it flew into such holes, of course she saw real Russian "roads"! This year we generally have a sterling board, not a road. . . . Not a single hernia, not a cut! Super tires! Super! ! !
