BDZ cleaning — logbook Toyota Corolla Levin 1999
I decided to clean up the BDZ. I bought two cylinders of carb cleaner, stocked up on patience, since the first experience, and proceeded ... before me, it seems that no one bothered with this - I was tortured by tightening stiff hoses and twisting stuck nuts.
Having broken one open-end wrench for 12, it was all the same possible to remove the BDZ, and there - horror! it seems that the damper has not been cleaned for a very long time ... it’s a pity I didn’t take the camera with me. A bottle of carb cleaner and a toothbrush were far from immediately able to wash off the terrible srach found inside, but in the end everything was torn to a shine.
Here I ran into a second problem - having also broken a Phillips screwdriver, I unscrewed only 2 of the four screws securing the idle valve, and even the slots began to be torn off. The impact screwdriver also did not give absolutely any result, the slots crawled further (I had to put the DBZ back into all the holes of the carbcleaner sensor ...
Bottom line - idle speeds float less, BUT fall after the factory to the cold nerially slowly. The main cant — biting the damper (when the parishioner punches the pedal with great effort at the beginning of its course) was completely cured. Better pedal response.
PS: can someone tell me what to do with these two malicious bolts for a Phillips screwdriver? I would like to post all the same KXX, maybe floating revolutions will be cured ...
