Updated music :) — Toyota Celica, 1.8 liter, 2004
As the machine came, I immediately did not like the head unit (which came with cassettes and CDs). There are no settings, no sound either ... after a long search in the car audio forums, I decided to take Alpine's head (because I had no experience of communicating with them, I wanted to try). Namely Alpine CD-9887. Almost immediately I ordered it from America, because. We have it is 1.5 times more expensive. I came in 6 days :) I went to customs, paid the customs fee and went home satisfied. That same evening I bought everything needed for installation and removed the old head. Then, having climbed on the Internet, ours is where something, i.e. pinout, cut off the regular "chip" and remade it for the Alpine "chip" :). It turned out that 8 speakers were installed in the car and a separate regular amplifier for them, so RCA wires were needed (they were already purchased). In the end, having installed everything, began to play with the settings of the head, though at first I had to take a steam bath in order to find where, what to press (control, to be honest, did not cause pleasant emotions in me). There are really a lot of settings and the sound has changed in a very good way (3 weeks have already passed, but I still can’t set up the system correctly :)). But the bass has become less ... and for a long time I wanted to put a subwoofer ... :))
As a result, the second item went to the sub. I went to the capital of Finland, Helsinki, grabbed the right subwoofer, it became Alpine SWR-1242D (nominal 500W, max 1500W, 2 coils of 4 Ohms each), and a suitable Alpine MRP-1000 mono amplifier (nominal for 2 Ohms 1000W, max 1900W,) . Then I bought wires, wires for power and mass SPL 2Ga, an acoustic wire for the SPL-dynamics subwoofer, SPL-dynamics interconnects, connectors, a terminal for the box, a 150A fuse, material for lining the box (because I wanted to make it myself), all sorts adhesives, varnish, etc. Then I bought an MDF sheet of the right size and went to design a box. After weighing all the pros and cons, I decided to make the first box a ZYa (closed box) of a trapezoidal shape with an internal net volume of 22 liters. Having sawed off everything, he began to adjust in size. ufff… krapotlivoe deal :). Then I twisted everything, glued it, vacuumed it, varnished the box so that moisture did not seep in, installed the sub in its rightful place, then put the terminal and voila)) we can try)). Having connected everything, I checked the tightness of the box, as it turned out, everything was fine, I began to glue it. Also an interesting lesson =). I put everything in place and so far I am satisfied with the result))). In time, purely on the box slowly took 5 evenings. Why so long? - still the first experience). Now, based on what he saw and did, you can make the next box much faster. And the plans are to try the second type of FI box (Phase-reflex), but it will already be 2 times larger: the internal volume is about 49 liters, the port is 240 cm2 and the setting is somewhere around 35-37 Hz. I want to hear the difference in sound. Having connected everything, I checked the tightness of the box, as it turned out, everything was fine, I began to glue it. Also an interesting lesson =). So far very pleased with what has been done. For the future, now replace the front and the normal VCL under the whole thing.
That's all for now :)
Have a nice day everyone!
ps Does anyone have experience with Alpine 9887? please hit me in person.
Issue price: 42 000 ₽You have the right music, well done!
I myself am a fan of Alpine, only I have a slightly simpler system, 86 Alps and a weaker Subic) If interested, check www.drive2.ru/cars/toyota…4062246863888413243/#post
The kicker is certainly cool, but in my opinion it is ideal for "meat" in SPL. And amplifiers will be needed more seriously :)) Alpine has pretty good subwoofers and speakers, you can build a good system on them.
It turned out to be a little thinner to buy MDF than I planned. Thickness 16mm. Trial version. Next time I will do everything in a good way :). How it plays - in principle, suits me. But although there were already sometimes thoughts of changing some thread to Kicker ... :)
The walls are flimsy in my opinion at the subwoofer. How many mm? I did 2 layers of 10mm chipboard. And yes, when you do it yourself, it’s doubly pleasant.
