Half a year of intermittent sex. — Toyota Starlet, 1.3 liter, 1998
The last half a year the car was approaching an inexorable death. On the train to Tobolsk and back at -39 degrees, I came home and saw the right front fender covered with oil. I drove the car to the service, they said that most of the rubber bands just gave out, wrote a list of spare parts, sent it to the store and said that they would come for the car at night. "We'll do everything, it will fly like crazy." Did not work out. The tires were changed, but the problem was not solved. A month later, he spat on everything, went to boxing, disassembled the engine, bought spare parts and began to assemble everything, washing and swearing along the way.
Rings, liners, gaskets, belts, seals, candles were changed, the head was washed, the channels and valves were cleaned (thanks to me and dad, I put aside all my business and helped). Everything is collected! Launch! It seems good ... But not for long, a month later, smoke began to fall from the chimney and bypass.
Turba is urgently looking for and located (Thanks Nakamichi).
We change the turbo in a day (it’s scary to look at the old one), I hook it up, fill it with oil, put everything back together. (Thanks to Max).
Launch! A nightmare! Smoke is coming from everywhere! Night time, we go home to think.
I didn’t have to think long, after 2 days the motor was safely covered with a copper basin, emitting the last TYTS-TYTS-TYTS.
It's a shame, annoying, but the decision is made to change the motor assembly. This is where the epic begins!
Having tried options everywhere, I ordered from a friend. Promised 4 days, took the money. With a delay of a week, he promised a 10% discount. I seem to be satisfied, drove the car into the box, warned the master that they would bring the engine at lunchtime, went home and went to bed safely. In the evening, having phoned the master, I find out that there was no motor at all. I call a friend, I ask, "where is the motor?". There is no motor and never will be. In two weeks I extort money from him in the amount of 110%. Along the way, I order the motor elsewhere, cheaper and in a more complete set. The promised time is 13-14 days. Came in 7.
Beautiful! Clean! all painted with silver heat-resistant paint! With him is a declaration stating that the engine has only been in Russia for a month.
And after 4 days I'm back on wheels!
The car never, NEVER! didn't drive like that!
"all painted with silver heat-resistant paint!"
This is certainly not a good sign...
