The Mongolian race. Part 1. Ulaanbaatar
Good morning!
On the second may I visited in Mongolia. Flew there at 7 PM GMT on may 8. To fly 6 hours, and the difference in time zones, there is also 6 hours. So when I came back, MSK only hour of the night, and in Ulan Bator is already 7 am.
Fortunately, our mini-hotel back from the airport pretty quickly, checked in immediately and went to sleep. Next — a walk through the city.
But first we must eat. Found on 4Square near The Bull restaurant with good reviews. It turned out — it's a restaurant with hot pot, or as I called it earlier, the Chinese samovar. The thing is common in Southeast Asia. Is a table in which is embedded a ring — either one large centre or individual to each. Order the type of broth (mushroom, tomato, and sharp .t.p) and different types of meat, vegetables, noodles, mushrooms, etc. You all bring in raw meat cut into very thin slices. A pot of broth is put on the burner, it starts to boil and then slightly up the ingredients. They are for a minute or two getting ready, to catch and eat. And so until the end. If you really boil over — comes the waiter pours the broth or just water. Finally, more can and the broth, rich has become well, screwed.
In General, all delicious :)
Then we went to Central square Sukhbaatar. The main road in UB is Prospekt Mira (surprisingly :) ). Go through it and realize that the time machine has returned to a provincial post-Soviet town in the early 90's.
levchik and trusik — satellites Mongolian women
On the way I met and TSUM and GUM, as well as interesting artifacts such as the monument group the Beatles.
The Central area is large, there is the House of government.
Genghis Khan
We got to the area after 15 hours, and then vengeance was a celebration of the victory Day.
a military band plays Soviet song
The highlight was the live broadcast of the victory Parade from Moscow.
Watched Putin's live, and went on.
In the city watch as a whole is nothing special, plus the weather was quite dull.
gateway to the yurts
But sometimes met interesting signs.
there is written that it is Mandalay dinner. But for some reason I read that narazves 300 grams :)
Went to the main Buddhist temple Gandan, and yet got there at some ceremony.
Generally, the temple of a strange, chaotic pile of buildings on its territory.
rain in the distance
One was Hindu, probably, with strange sculptures.
It started getting dark and it was time to look for a place for dinner.
the exhibition, the meteorologist
Came in a Mongolian restaurant.
Diet they are very monotonous, and they eat a meat.
This is a traditional soup, top tightened test.
Reveal the dough — and there is a rich beef broth and lots of meat. No hint of the vegetables and spices.
We took a set of different Buzov was (is Mongolian ravioli-type dumplings) — again, the dough and the meat, boiled or fried.
My friends ordered a milk tea. Brought two cups, one that floating around. Got it, took a bite — was a piece of BACON! For ethical reasons photos do not spread :)
Ordered more tea with dumplings. Brought a bowl full of the same milk tea floating in it, dumplings.
In General, vegetarians in Mongolia would not have survived :)
On the way back looked at the government House with night light and went to sleep.
The next day departure to the national Park.
While!
