SPRUT repair — logbook Toyota Hilux Surf 1991

After several hours of running in the swamp, the winch refused to work, so it was removed and repaired began ...

To begin with, they called with a tester. After we decided to check the brushes ... We found out that the sealing needs to be updated periodically, otherwise it becomes somehow rusty and oxidized inside.

In general, everything turned out to be normal, even the brushes are in order.
We bought solenoids and my beloved husband entrusted me to replace them :) Since water seeps into the block, then, despite the factory coating of solenoids + nuts with white paint, some nuts began to rust. I noticed that in the old block, bought at the beginning of 2008, the solenoid wiring was thinner. This unit was bought after the fire, at the end of 2009, there are very thick and solid wires. Maybe this is better, but the solenoids are more difficult to change, because in order for the solenoid to get on the metho, you must be able to guess the position of the wiring.
I replaced everything and the solenoids became shiny, not white.
The new solenoids did not solve the problem with work and it was decided to disassemble the engine, because a short man was slipping somewhere.
I didn’t have to climb deep, because a slightly grated wire was found quickly :) in the photo there is a small black posting
Well, in print and that’s all: the winch worked!
The repair would not have been a repair if it had been without a grinder! The husband decided to cut off the remnants of the bumper. It was like that. The winch wires had contact with the crossbar, because of this the mosquito net did not go down completely.

And it's done!

As a result, they made a winch, spare solenoids appeared, ennobled the bumper and made a tow hook!
