The surroundings of Sevastopol, or where we rest?
I am often asked about the place of rest in Sevastopol, and it is clear the city is not a resort, work, the beach there, but rest on them, and in season a handful. But...there is near to city places, yet not filled with tourists who don't want to leave...
Today I will hold a short tour of these places...
Cossack Bay. The generally accepted explanation for the origin of the name of the Bay: the Cossack patrol (chainage) located on its banks in the 70-ies of the XVIII century to monitor the actions of the Turkish fleet. In the photo — the lighthouse of Chersonesos, founded in 1816, and throughout his many years of service, for nearly 200 years, is a major witness to the development of navigation on the Black sea . He was the first to greet ships returning to his native Sevastopol from distant campaigns after brilliant victories, was a witness of the tragedy of Sevastopol in 1942, where he found his death his last defenders. This lighthouse, despite the destruction, until the last days of Sevastopol defense pointed the way to ships and vessels that tried to break into the besieged city.
2. To be more precise — this is not the Bay itself is an open sea on the other side of the Bay, awesome beauty of the place...Not to say that they are very readily available, but you can get there, you just have to know where and how to get down)))
3. The purity of the water to assess you can on a photo, why not take a dip in this water?)))
4. Here I go to swim in the evening, after work, at sunset...
5. Locals. A census of the local population has been conducted, but there are very many)))
6. Another favorite place is Cape Fiolent. It is less available. come for an hour here and not get to know the charm of this place — you need to go here for the day, the cliffs are high, trails are steep and sometimes dangerous. But it's worth it.
7. Cape Fiolent is located in 15 km from Sevastopol and represents the remains of a volcano that were active 150 million years ago. The former activity of the volcano can be traced almost everywhere – from the seabed to the beach, which have traces of various minerals in the rock. It should be noted that for a long time "Violento" is referred to not only the Cape, and the surrounding area, which are bases of rest, cottages and private homes.
8. It is unclear when the Cape Fiolent got a real name, but for the first time on the maps it was designated in 1807. Where did the name no one knows, but there are some major versions. One of them is the name given to the Cape by the Greeks and in Greek Cape is called "God's country". Another version says about the involvement of the Genoese by the name of the Cape. According to this version Fiolent went from the Italian "violente", which means "furious". In support of this release, frequent rough sea near the Cape. Another version sends to the Turkish roots of the name, which translates as "tiger Cape".
9. Very interesting texture of the stone...
10. Later, the Cape was called "Cape St. George". That is Saint George according to the legend, rescued sailors in distress a Greek vessel. Later, in honor of this near the Cape was erected St. George monastery.
11. And here, too, full of locals)))
12. And some of them are happy to pose for photographers)))
13. Some of them are hiding from the lens. but you know — they are there)))
14. The water is clean and plays all possible colors...
15. And not only do people like to bask on the rocks))) One of the guests...ponaehali here))
P. S. looking forward to when the sea warms up, want to swim already)))
Mean, yeah...the main thing — these two places are very different in feeling...the lighthouse, by the way, from far too similar)))
Such colors of the stone on the black sea is found near the lighthouse (near the Afghan camps)
Exactly.and the color scheme is different...plus, the black sea mostly open out directly into the water, and the Name — it is possible to walk, that is, more talus, relatively flat.
At first glance, actually they are very different...how to lay out some for comparison a separate post, although it would be better to see with my own eyes))
I have no doubt that you can!) And I really need great detail, with maps, diagrams, topography, and then suddenly get lost?

Nice))) a couple of times in Sowing, however we were vacationing on the North shore))) there's a large holiday house on the hill))
Well, passed the basic space is almost my native and beloved city)))) On the Chersonese lighthouse lived almost from zero to 2 years))) On fiolente was in the country... Ehhh...(((
Omega — this is not a beach, this Bay is artificially deepened, there Il interesting, in the heat it blooms...there generally can not swim, if not afraid to get poisoned and die. However, I do in the city bathe.
Near Sevastopol are the coolest beaches of the Crimea:
Uchkuevka, Blue Bay (35 pack), Fiolent, the beach near Balaklava. All of their beautiful and diverse.
You know, it's sad...although come to us from ukrina and now less, of course, but come...
Oh how I love the Crimea, so many times already there was this beauty never razljubish. Also resting current in Sevastopol, the current here when now there will get XS for this BL... policy.
With this purpose, I write when I lived in Kamchatka, long winter — missed heat, these posts soul warmed as if he were there))))
"Here I go to swim in the evening, after work, at sunset..." — the magic words!
