In the animal world. A trip to Kenya, part 1

Many of you, like me, spent their weekend in my childhood watching the wonderful programs of Nikolai Nikolaevich Drozdov "In the Animal World." I have this program just adored, especially the series about the faraway Africa. And recently I was lucky enough to find myself on the dark continent and Kenya to see with his own eyes.
I think no pictures and the texts will not give the thrill of being in the Savannah, surrounded by numerous animals and plants, but still the photo was taken and must be carried to your eyes.
How are the tourists I'll tell you later, but for today just some pictures from our first and second day in Africa. We have been in Kenya for two weeks.

Savannah was very different, it will be clear from the following parts of the story, and I'll start with the Tsavo National Park and its red soil and lush vegetation.

In the Park in addition to the huge open spaces, there are oases with huge trees and lakes. The vegetation here is quite lush and creates much needed shade. In April pretty consistently the thermometer shows 25-30 degrees, and the evenings usually take place under a thunder and downpours. Now is the best time for animals in the savanna a lot of food and water.

Monkeys roam about, but people are not allowed near, though not to say that I'm afraid.

We did a documentary for the TV channel "My planet" and we just had to have General plans with height. But to go to the NATs. parks of machines is impossible, this is due to the real threat of being eaten or trampled. At the entrance to the parks often with the inscription — "Remember, you are food". And it is really so, because almost every animal here can reach speeds of 50 km/h, and some, like the Cheetah, and 100. You will not see a lion, even if he is 5 meters away from you, and the elephant may wish to chase away intruders from their territory. So we had to hire a Ranger with weapons for attacks on the mountain.

Once we were lucky and we met the lions literally 3 metres from the vehicle. The sight of a huge 150-ti kilogramos predator is a thrill, and his direct gaze pierces. The heart begins furiously pounding, I think it's the primitive fear of the king of animals. Calm down only when he loses interest in you and continues to relax in the sun.

But actually the most dangerous animals in Africa — the Cape Buffalo. Polutoratonny huge piece of muscle with a small brain and a bad temper. They often attack people and pierce them with their horns. In Kenya every year about 300 people become victims and the only way to survive his attack is to defeat the survival instinct and to prostrate before him a star. He will not trample you will not be able to raise the horns because of their shape.
