candle replacement part 1 — logbook Toyota Camry 1995

  1 Toyota Camry 30 1995

Candle replacement. Started doing this tonight. I removed the intake manifold and everything. And then the question is what kind of candles to put? DENSO or NGK? What do you recommend better?

I'll probably put NGK for now. then I will change to DENSO with a pointed center, they seem to be called platinum.

I took denso (mark 2 1G beams) * 6pcs = 700-800r existential.

I'm sorry that I left it unanswered =)
It gets clogged with soot or honeycombs melt and it can smell "obscene" =)

Due to the formed soot on the spark plug, energy leaks to the body, significantly weakening the power of the electric arc between the central and side electrodes of the spark plug (i.e., a spark).

If you refuel at questionable gas stations, then any candles can be killed in 1000 km.
I have enough candles for about 60,000 km (for two years, with my runs), I didn’t measure exactly =), and even more in preventive measures, because the catalyst is not cheap at all, my pepelats is far over 40,000 rubles. But I fill in only 92- oh gasoline, although the 95th is recommended.

The problem lies precisely not in the pollution of the candle, just platinum-iridium candles are cleaned of soot much better than usual, but in the fact that the material of the central electrode, that same platinum, in addition to its high electrical and thermal conductivity, has high catalytic activity, which means any impurity of ferocene or tetraethyl lead (now it is rare) remarkably recovers on it and sharply reduces just these characteristics, the result is uneven X.X, on a cold engine, loss of power and increased consumption ... With normal fuel, they come out of their 60,000-100,000, unlike the usual ones where banal wear and tear limits the period to 45,000, but this is with normal fuel, one refueling and that's all ...

Platinum for my car 1670r per set - 6 pcs.

Thanks I'll know! As far as I can imagine the device of the catalyst, it clogs with lead, starts to smell of hydrogen sulfide and eventually ceases to perform its functions, bringing the engine into a vegetable state, does it also happen with candles?

It just seems so difficult =)

hmmm let's try it anyway :)

how can i change the spark plug without removing it?

You pull out vv. wires, you drop the head into the well, then there is a small extension cord of such 10 centimeters in length, you connect this economy, and then a long extension cord with a cardan, put it on this whole structure, and twist it with a ratchet a little bit.
the ratchet is obtained, as it were, between the collector and the motor shield.

I change the kit in forty minutes =)
They need a thin candle (with an elastic band inside) head for 16, it seems, a thin cardan, and a couple of extension cords.

yes he is

A

Do you have a 3VZ-FE motor?
If yes, then without any problems, there would be a head, hands and a tool =)

s
stallion 19.01.22

I think on my engine this is not possible or difficult!

A
Avcube 19.01.22

It's up to you. A lot depends on the quality of gasoline, although no one has canceled the financial side of the matter.
Can you change spark plugs without removing the intake manifold?

does that mean it's platinum?

Platinum ones are questionable whether you need them, given the quality of our gasoline, a raid on them forms before half of their service life, another question is if the replacement of candles results in a terrible crap, then you can also buy them, otherwise, it’s better to buy regular ones, for 10- 20k miles is enough.
