We remove the cruise restriction) - Toyota Aristo, 3.0 liter, 1994

Somewhere in my story, I mentioned that cruise control does not work at speeds above 100 km / h ... As it turned out, this is typical not only for Toyota, but also for most JDM cars of those years. For someone, the cruise works up to 100, for someone up to 110 or 120, in general, it doesn’t matter ... But what if I want to drive along highway 140, and at the same time sit in the lotus position? Or stick your right foot out the window? Something urgently needs to be done with this idiotic restriction)))) Then my friend came to the rescue, also an aristologist VVV777 , who by some unknown means dug up a solution to this problem on the English website of soarers, and wrote a wonderful report on the forum of our Toyota club )) Following his report, I removed my restriction, so I won’t bother myself and just copy his report, adding a little with my text and a couple of photos)))

PS I think this method is suitable for most right-hand drive Toyotas, but I personally tested it only on my Arista JZS147, on other cars do it at your own peril and risk))

So let's start, first you need to remove the cruise block in Aristo, it's not difficult to find it, you need to unscrew the bottom panel there are three self-tapping screws, climb under the steering wheel, and here it is, screwed on with two bolts, it's not difficult to unscrew.

Here is the block removed from the car. To disassemble it, you need to unscrew the bolt that is visible in the photo below, then use a flat screwdriver to remove the iron fasteners, open the plastic cap in front of the block (where the connector is), and gently shake out the board. If the board did not fall out immediately, then you can gently pick it up with a flat screwdriver by the heatsink, and apply a little upward force. Do not overdo it! ))

We put the board on the table and look at the place marked in red. In this place you need to put a jumper, that is, close these two points. Here you can not do without a soldering iron.

I took a piece of wire tinned and soldered, here is the result

You need to solder with a low-power soldering iron of 25 watts, when I did it, I had only 50 watts at hand, so it turned out not very aesthetically pleasing, but everything is reliable and most importantly - it works!

PPS By the way, when I screwed the block back, I discovered that in order to tighten the second fixing bolt into place, you need to be a person with iron nerves and musical fingers, I don’t have either)), so after tormenting for about 15 minutes, I decided that on with one bolt, it holds remarkably)) When assembling, take note of this))

Yeah)) Japanese cars are woven from restrictions))) In terms of speed, power, etc. And then the cruise was slaughtered))) But we are getting rid of them slowly)))

hm. I didn’t think that there is a limiter on the cruise, I usually set 120-130 on the Pontiac and go if there are no cars) an interesting report!

And I don’t seem to have cruise control at all, is this an option on turbos or did I miss something?

Thanks! Removed the restriction. Everything is working. Checked up to 150-155 km / h.
And, by the way, I screwed everything back without any problems (clumsy fingers, nerves to hell, if only)
