Resuscitation! — Toyota Mark II, 2.5 liter, 1996

A lot of time has passed since Mark got into a snowdrift in the parking lot, but we did not sit idly by, ordered spare parts from Vladik, from Japan, consumables, levers, bodywork (the slope had to be taken from an ordinary vegetable, without a radiator, because it is different, the ramp from the turbo was unrealistic), a new windshield.

New racks, a radiator from this particular model with a diffuser, a battery platform (it was not there from the very beginning), a fan with a clutch, etc. Also, a steering wheel with an airbag was ordered from Japan, having removed the braid, it was found that the steering wheel is quite in good condition, but part of the steering wheel seems to have been bitten off by teeth :) the skin in this place is torn to the base, and the airbag is not connected at all, moreover, on it even a different connector. It was decided to fix everything! They didn’t start the car, they hitched it up and dragged it to the place of analysis, it all started here ...

So mark passed into the possession of my brother, because. I could not do it, but not him!

Of course, I didn’t take a picture of everything, you can’t upload so many photos here.
Everything was done by my brother and a friend, he has his own small service, Lenya did almost everything himself in a nearby garage, and a friend helped with iron. The original catalogs were studied for the presence of places where spot welding is carried out in Japan, the places were cleaned, the points were removed, the elements were disassembled as a constructor, parts of the donor were taken, they were implanted in their native places in the same way, the geometry, diagonals were corrected, absolutely all foreign putty, all places cleaned and welded, places with bare metal polished flush, treated with an anti-corrosion compound with a penetrating effect. Places that are not desirable for replacement are stretched to the initial state, putty in the thickest place, a maximum of 1 mm, and even less in other places. After the implantation of the donor parts, the parts fit on the car as if it had never been beaten, let me remind you before this accident, the car was broken very badly and done obscenely. All complete disassembly and further assembly was done by Brother, well, I sometimes helped.

There you can carefully cut out the factory welding and put everything in place. The joint is just in the area of u200bu200bthe rack.

I agree, when the metal is heavily chewed, in this case there were no breaks at all, the dents are quite smooth, because the collision was not with the car, so if it hit the car, then yes, the metal would be torn, otherwise the part returned to its original position, and there was a minimum of putty. And I think it won’t play in this place, but if you cut out the wing, the welding spots will begin to peel off there, and all the more so you will have to embroider all the layers in the place of the rack, you won’t cut it out below

Well, imagine for yourself, metal bending here and there - fatigue micro-ruptures appear in it, which can then crawl out onto the gun.

The wing was not changed for reasons of the native integrity of this element, although it was dented, it rather easily took the opposite shape, I did not want to cut the stiffeners that run in the rear sloping roof rack to change the wing, and they are multi-layered there. Putties on the wing max 1 mm and then in those places that could not be removed. The photo shows that the entire configuration is displayed with metal and not putty

Here is the wish! Well done boys! Now you will be completely confident in the car and know it by heart! The rear wing also had to be changed and not straightened, but the reason is certainly understandable - the lack of extra funds, all this is familiar)
