Disadvantages or is it your fault? — Toyota Land Cruiser, 4.5 liter, 2008

Well, mileage is 39,000 km, I will share the state of the car.

At this run, there are several problems with this car manufactured in 2008. Maybe it's still damp, or maybe it's a design flaw.

1. Take, for example, tram tracks. If the steering wheel is held straight, then there are no knocks in the steering and suspension, but if you enter a turn and cross the path, there is a knock in the steering wheel, weak but present. There is a suspicion on the steering. Maybe the rail is loose, maybe the tips, but it will burn the rubber bands corny.
2. Brake performance. There was a problem with the inefficient operation of the braking system, the feeling that you were stopping the Boeing and not the car. For the first time, they replaced the expansion tank cap, bled the brakes and everything seems to be fine. But after a few kilometers, everything returned to normal. For example, if you pump the brakes several times to the stop on the spot and drive, the efficiency improves significantly, but again, after a few kilometers, everything returns again. At first I thought like this: a big car, a heavy car, an inert car. But she can really slow down.
3. With a sharp decrease in speed from 100 km / h, the steering wheel beats. There is a suspicion that he is to blame. Maybe somewhere in front of a puddle he braked, heated the brake discs and into a puddle. I could take it away, but I don't want to believe it. There is another option: unbalanced wheels.
4. Loose all the seats of the cabin. Passenger, second row, and third row. On bumps, this thing rumbles. Loud music is not an option! Well, it shouldn't be like that. The seats must be firmly fixed to the body. In the evening I went to the garage to try to stretch the seat fasteners on my own, and here's the thing: the fasteners are tightened, but dangling. Stretching had no effect. I don’t understand what’s the matter, did the bushings on the fasteners really break. I decided to get rid of the third row of seats, took it off, but the roar did not decrease. I'm already getting out.
In general, there is a slight disappointment in the car. Nothing, but having such problems on a run of 39,000 km is too little, and I don’t participate in competitions on it, but simple operation. For the solution of all problems, I turned to the Toyota service, the queue was 1.5 weeks, and I was on the track. In short, the situation is not pleasant, but in fact he took the car by and large for convenient, fast movement along the highway.
I’ll tell you about how the visit to the officials went separately!

In general, what can I add:
1) About the brakes:
Apparently too lazy to press, or sat far away, or landing is not correct. But I'll ask the question in the OD,
2) According to the backlash in the steering:
I found the backlash myself, not in a complicated way, holding both rods and asking my wife to turn the wheel. If you look at the car from the front, then the play is on the right side of the rail. These are not tips. There is an assumption that the backlash in the connection of the rack and steering column. The mechanism is not pressed tightly by the clamping spring, and the second thing is that it broke the cardan in the steering column. On Monday, April 16, I will give it to OT and see what it is, a guarantee or a replacement.
3) By seats:
I overcame the roar of the seats, removed the third row, it became quieter, but it didn’t help, the second row rattles and dangles, I checked for fastening broach. Surprisingly, everything is stretched out, but everything hangs. Then the decision was this: I'm going to the Toyota center, I sit in the same diesel engine as mine and start shaking the seats. And do you think they even shake on a new car, though less. And mine from the run shook even more. Nearby was a new Prado. Duck, everything is worth a stake in it. Even on a 6-year-old LX 470, everything is in place and does not rattle or dangle. So I don’t even know if OD can solve my problem or not. Well, I can’t listen to the rumble of the seats anymore, even if you remove all the seats and drive without them.
So far, everything else will be after MOT!

I read it and was a little shocked ... The problem with the brakes is never funny. And the fact that the service did not help leads to sad thoughts.

On the third point, I can say one thing - the Japanese apparently drive more calmly. On my regular pads and discs, after braking from 140 to 60, beats begin, even if I didn’t get into puddles. Colleagues-galantovody confirmed that they have the same thing.

The problem is solved by replacing the pads with non-original, softer ones. You will have to change them a little more often, but the discs last longer

There are suspicions that the caliper is sucking air when the plunger returns. Maybe it's even a caliper replacement

In general, they say that since 2000 Toyota has changed the policy of car quality, and now there are more spare parts that need to be changed and frequent visits to MOT!
