Valbra fuel pump — logbook Toyota Chaser 1997
Hello everyone.
Reached in general hands and long lying fuel pump. About a month ago I ordered an American walbra for 255 liters with an installation kit. We decided to put it on today, with which it helped me a lot (did all the work))) my friend Mikhail.
Pulling the old pump out of the gas tank was no problem. You remove the rear seats, unscrew 7 bolts and you can get it.
It is a pity that the standard chip for powering the pump did not fit, just for this case there was another one in the kit) Otherwise, nothing complicated, we remove the old one and put the new one. They fixed it with an iron clamp for fidelity, although even without it it is held rather rigidly.
Collected, inserted, started, heard a buzz-works.
Of the minuses, now from behind the back of the seats there is a constant hum, audible if the music is not playing very loudly or the song, for example, ends. Unpleasant, but tolerable.
I will look at the rest of the results of the installation.
Even if there are not enough photos ...)))) Vadim, if you wish, your hands will grow out of the right place and sharpen as they should.))))
you cut off the old one, fasten two wires to the new one) if you need a pump, then I will sell my walbra soon, I found a sard for myself.
is it difficult to connect another chip if I don’t rummage in the electrician at all? =)
I did not feel the difference in dynamics as such, because the turbine and the computer and the pump changed at the same time against this background, you understand, it is difficult to notice. the 280 l-h sard does not buzz, but it costs 8-10 thousand, an expensive pleasure for a thing that is not yet a fact that will come in handy on an ordinary bustap. the same v-cat drove 12.6 on a standard turbine and pump and nothing.
we can say that the pump was put in reserve, and not out of urgent need.
Feel the difference with the pump? Damn, I didn’t think that the Walbra was also buzzing, before that I had another kettle, I put Bosch 040, 250 l / h, too, it’s like, the pancake was buzzing like a padded Boeing)))) this fact annoyed a little!
I read on the forum the opinion that even if the pump is bent, it still does not stop buzzing) therefore the issue is moot))
I also have a valbra 255 hp. It buzzes noticeably :) The people in the back seat even ask, oh, what is it that buzzes so much? :) But you can hear that it works :)
I read about Sard ... I was just intimidated by the noise of Valbro, so I got into Yandex to look for what they write. Well, it so happened that almost simultaneously I found both your post about the problem and this link about its solution) So I decided to post it here - if I lose it, I will know where to look)
solved the problem by installing the Sard pump) now it doesn’t buzz) but thanks for the link, there is never too much information)
Here is a thread, it may come in handy ... They write that if the power is supplied to Walbra through the relay directly from the battery, then the buzzing stops:

the pump itself cost about 3000 3 years ago, the installation kit cost another 700 rubles, the rest is delivery to Sakhalin by express mail.
I don’t think it’s worth putting a valbro for 3000 rubles with a config for 500 horses.
The photo shows that the size is about the same as the standard one, maybe even a little wider in diameter.
255 doesn’t matter for what, I don’t know what kind of race you are building there) maybe you need to install two aeromotives of 340 liters each and an 8-liter anti-drain tank.))
