Clutch replacement. — Toyota Carina E, 1.6 liter, 1994
So the "native" Japanese clutch, which arrived along with the engine and gearbox, came to an end. More specifically, the release bearing stuck. Fortunately, the stock was almost a new clutch from the old engine. As luck would have it, all my mechanic friends went on vacation, and I didn’t want to give the car into unfamiliar hands. Taking the help of his friend Seryoga, we went to the garage, where the procedure for replacing the clutch was planned. Since we both never changed the clutch on a Toyota, I changed it on TAZs, and Seryoga did not even see how it was done, it was decided to study the book first, and then disassemble it. The book, as usual, doesn't really say much. We began to unscrew everything that could interfere. In the end, everything that was needed was unscrewed. The most problematic thing was to pull the box into the light of day. With the help of a mount and a mat, we pulled it out after 3 hours and crippled 1 finger. Traveled almost all day. The next day, after asking the boss for leave, we went to put the box. They put it in the 4th. The main problem is the subframe, he did not let loose, but with him we installed the box after 2 hours. Reassembly was surprisingly fast. When I left the garage, I was proud of myself because before I started I was tormented by vague doubts about the success of this event. As a result, the car goes, and I'm proud of myself))) When I left the garage, I was proud of myself because before I started I was tormented by vague doubts about the success of this event.
