Swap ICE. Episode two. — Toyota Corolla Levin, 1.6 liter, 1998
Today was a very productive day :) I
started by disconnecting all the wires, tubes and fittings from the engine.
I wonder how to properly drain the coolant? In the process, I doused everything that was possible, including myself :)
Then tasty and exciting - the actual removal.
In the process, I realized that it was necessary to loosen the bolts on the pillow in advance - it is very difficult to do this on a hanging engine. It helped that I already unscrewed them a couple of weeks ago. But already ten times I was glad that there is such a healthy crane :)
The only right pillow is unhooked - and the engine is comfortably located in the inspection hole.
A curious dove flew in - asked how the process was going and scrupulously checked everything;) I had to share a sandwich from a festive dinner, arranged right there on the occasion of the successful removal of the engine :)
The next step is to remove the braid. I had to sweat a lot when removing the panels and air conditioning.
On the left is my own, on the right is black topa. I noticed in passing that on the latter, unlike the native braid, there are not enough four wires on the connectors in the cabin. I think it’s not critical, if something comes out, I’ll start checking with them.
Native computer - where without it? :)
Tightening a new braid turned out to be a trifling matter.
My hands were itchy, so I couldn't wait until Slavcha came to help, to pull the engine out of the pit. Since the front suspension was disassembled, it was possible to roll the car back only by lifting it with the help of an iron hydraulic friend :) He also got the honor of pulling out the engine. He did it ;)
Slavcha arrived - he planned to lower a new engine into the pit with his help. But alas, I had to postpone it because of my naivety :) I thought the flywheel from fe would do — but it didn’t fit. Therefore, tomorrow there will be a showdown race - to put it mildly, not in a hurry, because on "public wheels". I hope I'm lucky and I find it :)
Before the swap, I deliberately threw out all the rubbish from the garage so that there was at least a little space :)
I saw the report in the blog;)
squeezed out the top tank on the way home from Ukraine. right next to the border...
ps report in my blog)
You don't have to complain about the garage. We have it quite small and always busy with something else. At the moment, a friend's car, which does not start, and which must be repaired together. =)
Yes, there would be more garage, and a deeper hole - otherwise it’s only about a meter. But by and large - it's a sin to complain, it's good that there is one;)
I tried to drain the coolant by unscrewing the plug on the engine and substituting the container. But at first she hit me and not there :)
And why did they change the radiator? Drip?
convenient garage) the
coolant is poured into something in advance. today we drained it (changed the radiator) into a water container. those that are five liters.
okay :) I also took a vacation 2 years ago to spend it from 9 00 to 01 00 every day in the garage :)
Thanks! For four years now there is a dream — at first it was just to change the engine, and then also do it yourself. At the end of winter, I said to myself - either this summer, or the dream can be written off as unfulfilled. I specifically took a vacation at work - they looked at me like an idiot when I said that I was going to spend it in the garage :)
