Parktronics — logbook Toyota Corolla 2009
From the first days of pokatushek on the korolka, I felt that it was necessary to install parking sensors. due to the peculiarities of the body and rear-view mirrors, as well as the size of the car, making a mistake when reversing is easier than a steamed turnip.
Literally in the first week of driving, a couple of times I poked my back or into fences or into cars (surprisingly, with absolutely no consequences, even without scratches).
After driving hatchbacks, I really couldn’t get used to the rear dimensions, and I turned to the dealer with a request to install a parking radar.
At first, the price was announced as just an astronomical $500 for a native sensor system that only knows how to squeak. At this price, my personal toad got wildly excited and began to choke me and the serviceman. In the process of a relatively short struggle, the master said that, in principle, he was ready to supply a non-branded system, and at the same time the price of the whole issue would not exceed $ 120 and he guaranteed that this procedure would not remove the car from the electronics warranty, however, he honestly warned that if I or I will be hit in the ass, then the whole set of radars will have to be changed. unlike branded ones, they have a different electrical wiring. This arrangement suited me perfectly and I placed an order for the installation.
Two days later, they called me from the service and said that the parking sensors had arrived and they were ready to serve me.
Korolka was driven to a service center, and I was sent for a walk.
After 40 minutes, I was drunk on coffee and had seen enough news in the lobby of the salon, was invited to accept work and pay for services.
In total, $ 110 was ripped off from me (they also made a discount as the owner of a discount card), and I was instructed on the use of this gadget.
The parking sensors display was placed on the dashboard near the left pillar
Well, the sensors are naturally in the rear bumper.
Where the receiver was hidden, I was not interested.
Because the machine is already black, there was no need to repaint the sensors.
As a result, I got an inexpensive and quite working parking assistance tool.
The sensors are automatically activated when the reverse gear is shifted, they show with indicators (horizontal thermometers) on which side the obstacle is, the distance to the nearest obstacle in meters (from 1.6 to 0) with fairly decent accuracy and squeak loudly and disgustingly. Everything was done in a Tayota branded service center, a 6-month warranty was issued for parking sensors.
I checked with me they see objects with a height of at least 35 cm and a diameter of 8 cm. And they have a fairly wide diagram from the sides. The central ones are more sensitive, the lateral ones are a little less. Thanks for the warning, I'll be careful.
Then it’s understandable, by the way, they told me that this sensor does not respond to the “bucketâ€, that is, columns and other low trifles. I checked it myself, I really don’t see it, the same thing with a friend on a BMW 5, so be careful
Yes, I am aware that I was ripped off almost twice their cost, but I am tied to a company service and a car warranty.
