Apexi RSM + G-sensor installation — logbook Toyota Mark II 1996
Another device arrived from Japan) While stocking up on electronics) Apexi RSM
Multifunctional measuring device APEXI RSM. Allows you to measure speed, engine speed, acceleration time from 0-100km / h, 0-200km / h, acceleration time for 100, 200 and 400m, and also removes the speed limiter 180km / h on many Japanese cars. It is recommended to use together with G-sensor (acceleration sensor).

One of the new features of RSM is the use of an acceleration sensor (G-sensor). Acceleration data can be shown on the display or used
for: very accurate measurement of 100m/200m/400m lap times
precise power calculation
Usually, when measuring the time of passage of a section of the road, using only the speed sensor, the measurement ends earlier due to wheel slip. Using the G-sensor, which corrects the speed sensor signal (taking into account slip), very accurate measurement results are obtained.
Another adventure is connected with this thing (Apex'i RSM)) Firstly, the Japanese sent to Vladivostok not her, but a turbo timer, in connection with which, the timer had to be sent back, and a new one to wait for PCM. Then, when I received it in Moscow, I decided to check it, found the connection diagram and, choosing the power wires (red and black), put it on the battery, the device showed no signs of life (((I checked everything again according to the diagram, but to no avail. I already got upset, but decided to go to our miracle electrician Misha a.k.a Botanik) We started to run through the wires, everything is in order, power is supplied to the microcircuit, but the device does not turn on. We opened it and began to examine the board, there are no visible signs of damage it was and we started ringing the tracks, in the end it turned out that the fuse on the board had blown, it is designated F1, and 630mA is written on it.
I also bought a G-sensor for it and put it all on the car. For installation, we partially disassemble the torpedo, also the central tunnel and remove the control unit. Next, we connect in parallel to the block 4 wires from RSMki power, ground, to the speed sensor and engine speed. I didn’t remove the speed limit, because it’s all the same to put another block. The device itself was stuck next to the instrument panel, and the G-sensor was placed in the glove box in the middle of the car.
Tried to make preliminary measurements! At first, I could not accelerate to 100 km / h better than 8.4 seconds, then I drove 7.5, and finally the best result was 6.53 seconds! According to the passport, a new car should accelerate to hundreds in 6.5! This means that the car is extremely alive! I have not measured 400 meters yet)) There was nowhere)
The PCM displays engine speed, speed, and longitudinal and lateral g-forces.
Having made preliminary measurements, I found out that the maximum frontal overload is 0.9g.
It also became possible to measure the horsepower in the car. The device measures the power on the wheels. Several measurements showed a maximum power of 238PS.
After doing some simple calculations, I found out that the loss in the transmission is 15%
280-100 %
42 - x%
Hence x u003d 42 * 100 / 280 u003d 15%
I decided to look for information on the Internet about the power of the stock Jazet and came across one measurement:
Here is a video of a stock Mark 90 on a dyno
The stand showed 171.3kw. 1kw=1.36hp, i.e. Mark gave 233PS, which indicates closeness to my measurements and the device shows fairly honest horses))) You can start from this in the future)))
Then, during one of the measurements, I got into a small hole on the road and the car jumped a little))) The device gave out 247PS at 5000 rpm))
If we take into account the loss of 15%, then we get
247-85%
x - 15%
x u003d 15% * 247 / 85% u003d 43.6HP, i.e. power on the flywheel is 247 + 44 = 291HP)))) Well, this is of course unlikely))
I didn’t get such a result anymore))) The car consistently gave out 237-238PS on wheels)))
Also the results of measurements of acceleration to 100 km / h
And then an unexpected result turned out, after installing the G-sensor, on warm tires and starting from about 2300 rpm. The device produced the following result:
Let me remind you that according to information from the Internet, in the technical specifications for 90 Mark with automatic transmission, there was an acceleration figure of up to 100 km.h. 6.5 sec))
Spare parts Brake pad wear sensor 280100 NK, ROAD HOUSEcool little thing.) I envy the terrible)
Good luck on the road) not a nail not a wand)
It’s still unclear how much she’s lying)) But offhand, it seems to show close to the truth)
In fact, you will quickly get enough of it if you do not constantly improve the car)
where would the manual in Russian be found on the same device))) well, or English))))
Well, the transmission loss can be easily calculated. PS - he shows it on wheels, i.e. you take the standard power of 280 horsepower and subtract the resulting power on the wheels from it, there you have the loss in the transmission. Only he shows you something a lot of 290 forces. Do you have a booster?
good thing))) only now it’s impossible to measure the transmission loss))) and the readings of the RS steadily seem to be from 260 to 290 ... the rest is to measure and calculate.
Well, this is already a boostup, since 0.9 is at the peak, then you already have about 310-320 forces.
Well no. No one has done anything to the motor. Removed only the environmental exhaust. catalysts, resonators. and the muffler and track remained regular. Peak boost 0.75-0.9 (depending on the weather). Well, let's just say that I never thought that the Yapis are not cunning with power.
My friend , it's good that I came across your bortovik in the search engine :) Rsmka turned up for me, but I didn’t receive a hello or an answer from her when checking, I was upset, I thought it was a corpse, I got to read :) As a result, I stumbled upon this topic, also rang, soldered wired on before and everything worked :)
Thank you very much :) It
remains only to restore the g-sensor. Some kind of redneck, apparently, could not pull the chip out of the RSM block and simply tore off all the wires from the chip to the root :( Now I’ll climb to look for the sequence of wires in the chip by color, then I’ll redo it, test it and I’ll implement it in the car :)
Yes, on the machine, the European Subaru 218 is from the motor. Japanese versions are more powerful.
I thought the tower was faster :) on the machine? how many turns?
By the way, it’s easy to find out the power from the wheels, you need to look at the characteristics of a European with the same engine :) for example, a simple wrx 250 in Yap, but in European there 218 is from Cales, for STI 280yap and EUR 265 everything is simple :)
It’s very accurate in terms of overclocking, but the horses all say from the “lantern†it shows :) I bought one myself yesterday, I’ll install it the other day and compare the power, I know it for sure from the dyno.
Is it your 1jzGTE that eats up to a hundred for 6.3?
shows ... go where 4 positions can simultaneously show and set what would be the mileage
hi… listen, but the mileage… or rather, does it accurately show you the mileage?
by the way, I measured the power ... so he showed me 240 ... but I have a 3-liter engine ... in the spring, when I finish collecting everything, I’ll go to the stand
no, I just connected the chip, the rest of the wires are for external controllers that I did not use
And the wires? In addition to the chip that connects to the PCM, what other wires are connected?
Hello, could you send a photo of the g sensora chip, in the service the wires were torn off from the chip under the root, I can’t find the location of the wires by color) Thanks in advance
Greetings) will be able to tell you how to calculate correctly, something I don’t believe in these readings ... I pressed almost 1kg - I got 365 ps by Rsm ... at 6639 rmp-Apparently the speed
