Repair after an accident - Toyota Crown, 2.0L, 1997
On August 4, I finished the restoration of the car after a small accident, which happened back in March.
I drove from the airport at night, unsuccessfully hit a fresh, very insidious ice, lost control, turned around and hit sideways on a road fence. By the way, this is the first accident I have on this car (not counting minor scratches).
Damage: left front fender, front bumper, left headlight and headlight, left rear fender, rear bumper, left tail light.
Due to the financial crisis, repairs were done in parts. In June I bought all the spare parts. Had to buy:
left front fender;
left headlight and headlight;
left tailgate.
The rest could be fixed. Faro could not be found in the city, I had to order it on existential. The existentialist had problems, she came only on August 4, so the renovation was completed on this date. All together the spare parts cost around 8 thousand. The most expensive is the headlight, it is new, it cost 4700. The rest is used.
Along the way, in July, the rear window was broken at night. I did not find a used original on my car, I put it in Chinese. In the original, there was an antenna for the radio on the rear window, in Chinese there is no (there is heating, of course, but there is no antenna), the radio does not catch now, but I don’t care, I don’t listen to it, I listen to discs. And so you can certainly do something. Since then I have put the car in the parking lot, since it is just across the street from the house.
In July, we actually did all the repairs, it (together with the materials) cost 13,000.
Faro waited until August.
The new headlight turned out to be noticeably lighter than the old one (the old one darkened), washed the old headlight from the inside, it became better, but still, alas, they are slightly different.
