Hands reached the noise and vibration isolation of my typewriter ...
I bought 7 sheets of vibroplast and 3 rolls of 1m x 1.5m soundproofing material 4mm in a shop.
Many people are misled that Toyota is quiet and comfortable to drive, of course, when compared with cars of a lower class or Avtovaz, then of course there is less noise ... But the vaunted Japanese calmness inside the car is due only to these two pieces of vibration damper - gray rectangles, on each of the doors :
Although it is worth paying tribute to the Japanese, the door trim from the inside is still covered with sound-absorbing material:
The only thing that is really well done and thank God you don’t have to do it yourself is the floor, I didn’t even touch it ...
In general, I started working, as you already understood, on the doors ... I took off the trim - there is nothing difficult here - 2 small self-tapping screws and one large one, + 10 pieces of caps and trim in my hands ... Then I saw a dense film
, which closed the holes through which I had to climb inside the door - boldly cut my way to the metal and set to work - took the vibroplast - cut it into small rectangles - to make it easier to put it inside and glue it tightly:
Then I took a 4mm sound-absorbing material and glued it on top of the vibration damper in 1 layer, it seems to me that this is more than enough ...
Well, so that the Japs would not be offended, I sealed the cut film with tape =)))
I also made the trunk lid Shumkov also with two materials, now it closes easier and quieter =)))
Now the ceiling is waiting for me, because there was material left on him … With him, for now, the snag is to remove the racks, there was no time for this … I’ll sign everything about him in detail!
The price is for materials that are enough for the ceiling and 4 doors with a trunk lid!
PS I completely forgot to describe my impressions after the doors were noisy - when I went at first I didn’t understand whether it became quieter or not, but when I drove along the first bump everything fell into place, and when I left for the city it became even better - now I almost don’t hear the roaring minibuses and all the rest with baaaaalshimi mufflers =)) + another bonus that the standard music sounded in a new way, it turns out that she has a completely different voice =)))
PSS By the way, all the work took 6 hours, these are doors + trunk lid ... although the first was the back door and I studied on it, I killed 2 hours on it =) a lot or a little, of course I don’t, but it seems to me that it’s pretty quick, although I didn’t chase over time, quality is more important here =)

(these holes in the doors had to be completely sealed with a sound insulator, and not return the film, this is the main point! you need to seal it with a sound insulator as much as possible, and you could also walk with a vibrator ... and this film is usually thrown away) it can only help from dust ...
but at first glance it seems that everything is done so seriously in foreign cars that it is even unthinkable to touch the upholstery or something else from the interior elements =) not like in Russians! remove the entire panel? just spit, well, collect as well =)

Are all the clips and pistons intact? Is the door upholstery only attached to them or is it like on the fret with bolts and screws?)
