Revision and restoration of the running gear. — Toyota Carib, 1.6 liter, 1990
Today I drove the "konyazhka" to the auto-orthopedist. There are two main complaints after the haul: rocking of the front end on asphalt waves and catastrophically weak brakes.
We started with the last ones. Valera, an experienced person, puts not the first Japanese on his feet. I looked at the master cylinder, shook the pedal and delivered a verdict: most likely the rear circuit ... Removes the drums and for sure! The brake pads are not pressed against the work surface! Three minutes of work with a ratchet - a closer and a brake "stake"!
With the front end, the situation is more complicated, new racks are needed, since the relatives have a swap system and are completely dead in terms of functionality. But even here Valera found a way out. The old ones are removed and pumped with new oil, plus new seals are put on the stem. And the HEIGHT CONTROL system is turned off and the working processor is removed as unnecessary to the far corner of the garage. But this is all a half measure, and literally today I order a set of KYB racks on the front. True, I will put them only in the spring, they will hardly survive our harsh winter and will use the "restored" ones until March.
