Tuning: brakes. Part I — Toyota MR-S, 1.8 liter, 2003
By coincidence, I once met for sale front brake calipers from Toyota Corolla Levin BZ-R AE111. Immediately there was a desire to put them on the MR-S, since in the future it was supposed to be a small tuning, which should start with the brakes. The main advantages of such brakes are 2 pistons and a larger diameter brake disc. I could not pass by and bought (now they are traveling from Ufa, the photo was taken by the seller).
I reviewed the entire Runet, but I didn’t see such a rework on the MR-S (or at least the Corolla in the 120th body) - basically, people put brakes from the BZ-R on the Corolla in hundredth bodies (there are examples on the Drive). Hence the first request - who faced such an alteration, please share the info. Ready to answer ***** :-)
The BZ-R gears themselves will be disassembled, sandblasted, painted and reassembled with a new repair kit. Still undecided on the brake pads, it will be interesting to know your opinion. Disks, most likely, I will put stock ones, but I want tuning pads. Main criteria: efficiency/price/quality. I use the car 90% of the time in the city, I don’t participate in races.
And to finish off the subject of brake tuning, I recently bought a set of excellent British hoses from GOODRIDGE (auction photo). Wanted TRD, but the price tag turned out to be biting.
I don’t plan to do anything with the rear brakes, I’ll just paint it in the color of the front ones (most likely golden, but options are possible, so please suggest).
I will carry out work on replacing the brakes in the winter, so there is still time to collect information and decide on future components.

Understood thanks.
A friend praised Dixcel (Extra Cruise) - up to 450 degrees. I think they will also fit in the list of candidates.
No, I have Acre =) Dixels are good, more expensive than acres, almost like projectors. I think up to 450 degrees everything is about the same in terms of characteristics, the prices are slightly different =) so you can take any of those that were mentioned

I can only compare with stock, I liked Pts. and they showed themselves well on the ring in life :)
I also know a couple of guys who used them on the ring and everyone is happy
What would you recommend for pads? You had them on the Corolla Project Mu, what are your impressions of them?
I can’t tell you anything about these brakes, but I have read more than once that they are installed.
brakes are very important
On the first part: encouraged! It would be just great if it worked out that way.
I looked at auctions, they offer converted ones from Porsche, for example, injapan.ru/auction/129374317.html, or brembo injapan.ru/auction/f80921226.html, but the price tag is appropriate :-)
I understand you about the brake fluid.

I also thought about the GTZ, but whether our fears will be justified or not, it will be possible to find out only by putting it. I also think to notice the braking distance and drive it to the stand, so that after installing new brakes, compare the results.
PS: cool avatar :-)
firstly, with reinforced hoses, more pressure will reach the brakes + fill in motul brake fluid tuned, I think the GTZ will cope with these mods ... I think everything will fall, but did you look for tuned ones at auctions?

I had brake discs, they fit on the bz-r, so there should be no problems with their installation if the brake mechanisms are identical to the Fielder ones, but at the expense of the calipers xs, but I think they should get up without problems, the only thing in theory should be an increase in the load on the GTZ whether he can handle it or not...
It's no secret, 6000 rubles. without taking into account the cost of delivery in Russia.
Thank you for your support, when it comes to installation, I will definitely contact you. Obviously something needs to be redone. I'll check the stock drive specs tomorrow.
Contact if anything.)
What parameters do you have for stock brakes? I reduced the discs from Bizer in diameter and grinded the bracket, plus I also made a spacer to center the disc.
I have it mid-engine :-) In stock, the front brakes are more "productive" than the rear ones.
