Sovereign's road 2008 — logbook Toyota Hilux Surf 1991

  2008 Toyota Hilux Surf 24 1991

Everyone, probably, has places where they want to return, about which one can only speak enthusiastically, which are interesting to know and discover again and again ... For me, this is Karelia.

My second trip to Karelia became one of the most memorable for me. Firstly, there was no such blind delight as the first time, now I began to notice what was then unnoticed, highlight interesting details. Secondly, it was a honeymoon trip :), although six months after the wedding, but it was :) And thirdly, Karelia is Karelia, it is impossible not to enjoy it.
Why did we go on such a route, because it was unpopular, which means it was not traveled, it was not polluted, and because it was interesting to see the "road" with our own eyes.
So what is the Emperor's Road?
“The water-carriage route, along which, according to one of the theories, in 1702, during the Northern War, soldiers and peasants under the command of Peter I dragged from the White Sea to Lake Onega (from the mouth of the Nyukhcha River in the Onega Bay to the Povenets Bay of Lake Onega) two warships. With the help of these transferred ships and troops, after some time, the Swedish fortresses of Kexholm (Priozersk) on Ladoga and Noteburg (Oreshek, Shlisselburg, Petrokrepost) at the source of the Neva were taken.

In essence, the transoceanic overcoming of the White Sea-Baltic watershed by Peter I across the territory of present-day Karelia became a kind of springboard, a line of spatial acceleration for the subsequent capture of Nienschanz, for establishing Russian control over the mouth of the Neva and for the foundation of St. Petersburg.

If interested, the report can be read on the website www.off-travel.ru/site/in…a-osennyaya-kareliya.html

I want to show some photos and videos. Just to share the positive of the trip and my memories, which could not overshadow neither the rain, which is almost constant, nor the mosquitoes, not afraid of repellents, nor the bent disk, which could not stand the impact on the stone, nor the beavers, who made most of the gati of the river, nor jammed hub bearings, because of which we drove more than 600 km 30 km / h on the way back ... The sovereign's road has been passed!
Karelia is beautiful!

Yes, I've been out too...

Are you planning to go where in November? I’m thinking where to go, I hope I’ll install a self-block, I need to run it around)))

no, we don’t plan. because the husband has already taken a vacation. And even after the raids of the “sovereign’s road”, like a 4x4 club, it becomes less and less interesting there, a road appears.
Yes, and after each car, the path is destroyed quite strongly, we were there, we saw beauty, of course we would like to visit again, but let those who have not been, but we have hardly seen Karelia, we need to travel along other routes ...

Looked at the link and your pictures. I envy white envy! Keep it up! Nyvka was very surprised, you can see the owner is well done.

No need to envy, you need to go :))) It was good there, still remembering with delight.
The owner of the fields is a wonderful person and a good friend!

August seems to be the most positive sunny weather and warm (i.e. the probability of finding such weather is greater :)), but there are a lot of people there at that time (judging by the forums). In September it was cool, but there were very few people.

Clearly, it means it is necessary in the fall.

well, you have to ask those who live there :) I was once in August (from the beginning to the middle) and there were few or no mosquitoes at all, if you don’t stop by in the swamps, they are always there, even in the sun ... The second time we went in September and There were almost no mosquitoes either, the main thing is not to spend the night in the swamps :)

Which month has the least mosquitoes?

yes, traveling alone is not so interesting and safe. There are like-minded people once you have a dream! Karelia is worth seeing!
Well, compared to Tambov, everything is completely different there :)

I have been dreaming of visiting Karelia for a long time. There are no like-minded people yet. Nice!

beauty ! thanks for taking me on vacation :)
I really wanted to swim in Vyge, for example, but it was already a bit cold.
By the way, the topics of night cooking of mushrooms, bears and non-pedigreed spaniels are not covered :))))

I want more, it’s even possible on foot, it’s very beautiful there ...
