Inspected the car before the TRP — logbook Toyota Mark II Qualis, 2001
As always happens with me, the repair was not planned, I came, I looked, oh, I’ll change the dike ... (for this I apologize for the quality of the photo - the phone, I try to use a digital camera at planned events)
Next week to pass the TRP.
I drove to my father's garage to look at the steering, suspension and headlights. And I found a small backlash (very small, within the normal range, but with a knock), began to understand and found the cause. It was the steering column cross (outer) directly in front of the rack. This is the ill-fated cross that got me a couple of months ago.

I decided to change (I bought an oil filter along the way, I will soon change the oil).
He did everything quickly and efficiently, or anything complicated (I had not done this before).
The old cross was in a terrible state, the seals (anthers) died and the moisture killed the bearings completely, everything was rusty inside, and the steering wheel used to bite.
The problem is solved, and I got new knowledge, skills and abilities...
