High-quality sound or Alpinezation — logbook Toyota Corolla 1999
From the beginning of owning a car, the idea to change its standard acoustics consisting of front and rear speakers + tweeters visited me every time I traveled in a car, not that it was very bad, I just wanted a cleaner quality sound, and of course good bass never hurts.
For a long time I chose components, monitored various projects, read about various installation schemes and reviews about different brands of acoustics to be chosen. In the end, my choice was Alpine acoustics, the last impetus for buying all the components of this brand was the purchased amplifiers of this brand almost for nothing. The most popular 2
component front and buffer. As the head unit Alpine CDA-106Ji is an analogue of the European CDA-9886R with the possibility of improvement using the Alpine PXA-H100 processor, the standard
acoustics will be replaced by a set of two-component Alpine SPR-17S, an Alpine SWR-1242D subwoofer, four-channel Alpine MRV-F400 and two-channel Alpine amplifiers MRV-F1000.
But high-quality sound cannot be without sound insulation. For this, 3 sheets of foil visamat,
3 bitoplasts and 2 non-foil visamat were purchased.
Started disassembly and installation. I dismantled the front doors, removed the regular speakers, the entire internal and external area of the doors was washed from dust and dirt that had accumulated inside over the entire period of operation of the car.
Washing was carried out with the help of a thousand and abrasive sponges for dishes, after washing the surface was dried and degreased, all moving hinges and mechanisms were re-lubricated, in order to avoid unnecessary noise, the wires and door opening mechanisms were placed in heat-shrinkable tubing
wiring fasteners and skins are planted on a 2-sided tape
I glued the inside of the doors with non-foil visomat
outer foil
door trim was also washed degreased and glued with bitoplast. Speakers mounted on 12 mm plywood podiums
crossovers are fixed inside the doors, I had to tinker with the tweeters, since their diameter was larger than the
standard ones, but a little time and the natfel solve the problem.
Since there are no speakers in the rear doors, they were glued only with
bitoplast. The trunk was also washed and pasted over with the remnants of a foil visomat.
At the moment, the sound has become much stronger and better than it was, but I will not stop there.
To be continued…
Well done! Congratulations on the update! Himself now vytayu pick up good music in the car! It was very interesting and informative to read! Thanks! ;)
I also have channels under the seat from the stove to the feet of the rear passenger, in winter he will have a hard time.))
While the flight is normal, and then we'll see, many have amps under the seat, complained mainly about the fact that they don't seem to heat up much, so for now I'll leave it under the seat.
In general, I heard that they don’t recommend putting amps under the seats, as if he doesn’t breathe there, condensation appears, and microcircuits and channels stick in the aftermath.
Although he himself has an amp under the seat :)
In addition to vibro-rolling, there are other technologies, for example, the addition of stiffeners or the use of polyester with fiberglass, which makes all structures much lighter.
visomat took the thickest, if you glue more there is a possibility of sagging doors because the hinges on the corollas are not very good, and the weight of the door has increased decently!
Not a bad start! however, one layer of visa mat at the door - IMHO - is not enough.
There will be nothing under the seat of the usu if you don’t climb into the salon in boots full of snow)))
I agree, but everything was rolled in with a roller under a building hair dryer, as far as there was enough strength
Well done, but there is one BUT. Such sticking of vibra is no good. Everything seems to be correct, but the vibration must be rolled in until the relief squares are no longer felt at hand, there are special rollers for this. I personally rolled it with a screwdriver handle.
Eh ... I feel not soon I will take up the music, but I appreciated your work to the fullest. seriously approached the question =)
A worthy installation…
I have a question for you about installing the front speakers… How well did I measure the seat in the door using the plastic contour-ring of the standard speaker (which has sealing foam on top), the size is 13.5 mm.
Or is the size of the hole in the door under the regular plastic podium larger?
How do you fit 16.5mm speakers?
I now have a question about replacing the speakers in the doors - I don’t want to miscalculate when buying with the size.
There is no medicine. I measured the dimensions of the speakers, transferred the drawing to plywood. Further electric jigsaw;)
Do you have a template for plywood? And then I also change the foreign ministries, but I can’t find it in any way (Or how did you do them?

Great, still working
What kind of mrv f1000, and please tell me how you connected it? Would like a photo if possible. I connected it with a bridge and somehow it gets warm and when it is piled into the defense it goes away
