It would be necessary to update the BZ ... The last Parking at the moment took place on August 29, again at the site near the North Mall. This time the track was very fast and everyone seemed to like it :) As before, we decided to hold two attempts in the format of three laps each, the best attempt was taken into account. Two cars went to the start at once and started with a 30-second gap, which is just about half a circle.
The day in the morning was not hot at all and there was no smell of "hot asphalt" at all =) On the contrary, it was a bit cold, especially the strong wind bothered me.
By the way, I had to be nervous since the morning, and not because of the race. Having celebrated a friend's birthday well the day before, getting behind the wheel and driving to the venue was a little uncomfortable =) But nothing, smiling after passing the traffic police post, I was already thinking about the upcoming race.
As I said, they put cars in pairs and now they put a BMW M3 in a pair, although I hadn’t seen it before, but the wide Michelin Pilot Sport KAP, six-piston brakes in front and four-piston brakes in the back inspired respect%) True, standing on the line start finish all this somehow forgot about it. The warm-up and familiarization circle made it clear that the asphalt is really cold and my Neova AD08 is somehow reluctant to hold on to it, well, nothing, it’s even more interesting :) very interesting, varied, with well-thought-out combinations of turns. Enjoying the process, not noticing anything but the asphalt of the track in front of me, suddenly in the middle of the second lap I see the same M3 that started behind me very close in front of me%) It's funny, I thought, and turning on the emergency gang, I follow to the pre-launch zone - according to the rules, I am supposed to restart. It was good in principle - the rubber had time to warm up a little (after trying, I clarified that the working temperature that day was only about 40 degrees) and I started immediately on the heated tires. Apparently, for this, in the end, the difference between my first and second attempts was not so significant.
In the second attempt, I was already placed with Volodya on Corse, so I knew that I would not catch up with him during the attempt. I felt like I was driving faster, but I missed the start a little.
The gap from competitors in the class was large and I had to leave without looking at the performance of the absolute. Arriving after the awards, I saw myself fourth. It was more than a second before the first place, but he could compete for the second and third, a bad start played a role here. Again I remembered about Toya, which would have certainly managed to drive around everyone, well, satisfied with the fourth place, I went home. It is necessary, of course, to fight and improve the time on this rubber, which we will strive for.
