sweaty valve cover — logbook Toyota Camry Gracia 1997
I noticed oil sweat around the ignition coils. Decided to remove it. To remove the cover, in addition to the four nuts of the candle wells, you will need to unscrew: 2 upper bolts securing the timing belt cover and loosen one bolt securing the sensor connectors near the oil pressure sensor. He took off the lid, inside (see photo) Partially all this cocoa was wiped off, but it still remains. In order for the motor to be beautiful inside, I see 2 options:
1 - once in an oil change, remove the cover and wipe everything, because little is removed with fresh oil, it only becomes greasy.
2 - use a mild engine cleaner or flushing oil (in 5S, the design allows you to remove 90% of the old oil from the crankcase when replacing).
I took out the gasket from the cover, the condition is excellent, it probably changed not so long ago, I missed it with a sealant (thin layer). Let it dry for half an hour and replace it. The washers that seal the candle well are also lubricated with sealant (just in case).
We apply a layer of sealant from a tube, then with a spatula level it evenly over the surface, remove the excess. We wait a few hours (the longer the better) and forward. Nothing complicated
the corrugation burned out slightly, but the sound has changed, you can change it, but for China and how much it takes, it may not be worth it, it does not affect the speed
I also had such a problem. They replaced the entire corrugation. I don’t know what they put in. In 2008, it cost 3000 rubles. along with work. So far, it's ok.
