The first serious work ... - Toyota Paseo, 1.5 liter, 1999

Got a thermostat, found a place where you can weld the radiator.

The beauty took a place in the garage and, apparently, for a long time ...

By the way, the white dots in the photo are paint chips, not a dirty car ...

Started:
Water splashed in the turn signal, a brood of insects, sand and just cloudy glass in the main headlights, so they removed the headlights and turn signals:

Removed the bumper for ease of operation:

Now we remove the radiators (one kondeya, the second is normal):
Disconnect the pipes:

Propeller connectors:

We unscrew the bolts of the radiator itself:

And everything remains to hang on the lower pipe, which we safely remove the entire radiator:

Here it is, the hero of the whole story, a broken radiator! Well, I suffered!

The diagnosis is a heart attack, intervention or write-off is required.

We climbed to remove the radiator kondeya:

Disconnected the tubes through which the freon was chasing. It was not in the system ("A/C is working, it's just cold right now") due to a broken air conditioner radiator...

Another pipe:

The first - with two keys for 19, the photo of the second with a bolt screwed back, for clarity.

And here is the radiator itself - the diagnosis is a decaying corpse:

And now the thermostat.
Without a bumper, radiators, it was easy and convenient to get to it. It is located under the distributor and is inserted into the block itself, the thickest pipe was included in it. Here it is under the cover:

And here he is, with the lid open:

Comparison of old and new:

By the way - the new one is 82 degrees, the old one is 76. I decided not to install it, it's still not in a hurry. I’ll change it for the right one, anyway, the office that brought it to me under the order easily agreed to change it.

All that we managed to do in 4.5 hours with the help
of Acidns and
Ostkin , for which many thanks to them!

I have to take a break for the time being - I need to calculate the costs, change the thermostats, save up for a radiator (at least one! $ 135!)
I think I will do the headlights for now ...

Thank you for your attention!
