Changed the radiator - Toyota 4Runner, 3.0 liter, 1995 to DRIVE2
On Friday, the new radiator was already at home. Apart from the fact that his father put it slightly somewhere, then everything was wonderful. Judging by its appearance, it is absolutely the same as our current one, which means there should be no problems with the installation.
On Saturday, most of the population worked, including the folder. Therefore, getting up not too late, I got ready and went to the store for antifreeze, engine oil and a filter. Buying 12 liters of Japanese antifreeze, as well as 5 liters of 5w40 synthetics cost 3000r. Upon arrival home, had a bite to eat, met my father from the station (he takes the train from work) and we went shopping with him, and decided to change everything on Sunday.
Sunday morning got up early and drove to the garage. They rolled the Boy out of the garage and rolled it over the Runner's pit.
While my father unfastened everything from above, I did the necessary manipulations under the car.
I took off the protection while the oil was draining from the engine (after replacing it was already running great - that's why we decided to replace the oil). Then, he removed the oil hoses from the automatic transmission from the radiator, plugging them with 10 bolts, and so that oil would not flow from the radiator when removed, he put a piece of hose on both ends (inlet and outlet).
The drain valve on the old radiator, the previous owner perekolhozit under the thermal sensor, therefore, the coolant had to be drained by removing the lower pipe from the radiator. Almost did not pour himself on ...: o)
When I finished at the bottom, it turns out my father had already unfastened everything at the top: the fans, as well as for the convenience of removing the radiator, had to unscrew the tanks (expansion and windscreen washer).
They took off the old radiator ... We walked from the "duct" with a compressor over the cells of the air conditioner radiator (while access is free).
The new radiator fell into place like a native. : o)
I'm down again - to collect the hoses back for the new radiator, the folder in the engine compartment ... after installing the hoses, I unscrewed the old one and screwed on a new oil filter on the engine ... We put two "Carlsons" together (it turned out not very convenient for one), everything was connected.
The pouring of antifreeze showed that not all of the old was merged - only 6-7 liters entered the system, which, however, is obvious, because we did not drain the coolant from the block. The oil has merged qualitatively - almost all 5 liters have flown in. :about)
They started, kicked out the airlock. Still, somewhere it was formed ... the motor at some point somehow miraculously twitched, almost stalling, after which it gurgled in the radiator ... After adding a little more antifreeze, we waited for the fan temperature sensor to work, put things in order, rolled the cars back (" Boy "to the garage, Runner to the street), changed and drove home.
Oh yeah ... When I was twisting the protection, I found that the front gearbox was somehow strangely loose ... A close examination revealed that for some reason the bolt of the rear silent block had been unscrewed. Well the nut stayed in place.
On the way from the garage, we stopped at KEMP and picked up a suitable bolt. I'll have to dive under the car and twist.
