I think, is it worth modifying the car? What do you advise, dear? - Toyota Fortuner, 2.7 L, 2006

the car was purchased new. but the right hand drive was chosen for cost. I needed a good, family-owned, sufficiently reliable and comfortable car for getting around the city and traveling to the countryside. The idea of acquiring a minivan (Toyota Wish, etc.) disappeared by itself, since the car's clearance was an important factor (roads in the village leave much to be desired). And, of course, the winter period, when snow removal equipment does not have time to clean the city streets.

After running 5,000 km, I was convinced that something was wrong with the brakes, although I drove it to the service more than once to check the latter. eventually learned that it was the "disease" of all Fortuners until 2007. The front brake discs are only 180mm, and how can they effectively upset a 2 ton car? moreover, the rear drum brakes.

It was decided to replace the rear brakes with disc brakes, but the service advised to replace only the front brakes with enlarged (225mm) perforated JBT brake discs, which, according to experts, will have a positive effect on the operation of the entire (?!) Brake system. At the same time, standard 16-inch wheels do not need to be changed.

Skated about 15,000 km. replaced halogen lamps with Xenon - "ProSport 8000". I agree that light is good for everyone, but the car is not equipped with electric headlight washers as required by various rules. We'll have to think about the possibility of installing them.
High beam headlights and fog lights are ordinary halogen lamps. True, when using all the headlights on (on a night country road), an interesting yellowish light is obtained. But it does not interfere with visibility at all.

no, the headlights were right as they were. though long regulated so as not to blind the oncoming flow. Until now, there were no "blinks" from oncoming traffic.
although, of course it is worth: 1. or install the correct headlights or 2. get a normal, left-hand drive car.

JBTs are not worth their money, look better at the Russian manufacturer Proma, many even bet on sports cars and are completely satisfied. They have excellent 4-piston solutions with collapsible brake discs and kits to fit many cars. Not advertising))))
