Our car is still in combat formation, and our mileage counter is slowly counting kilometers, the amount of which has approached 215,000 km. Well, the first thing we encountered once again was oil leakage. Thank God this was dealt with quickly. The culprit was a loose imported sealant.
The run-in of a freshly assembled engine, about which we started the story last time, passed without loss, so let's sum up some results. Unfortunately, we have not been able to defeat the vibrations there yet. After thinking about the reasons for their occurrence, we assumed that the cylinder-piston group of the engine is still to blame here. However, the compression test and inspection of the candles did not give anything. And we decided to get used to it. If not for one case...
August 29, 2010 dramatically changed the life of our car. After warming up, we went on business as if nothing had happened, when suddenly the car stopped listening to the gas pedal, and when you pressed it, on the contrary, it slowed down and still choked and (which I haven’t seen for a long time!) began to "shoot". Having taken out the candles, we found a crumpled electrode in one of them, and the rest of the candles were with decent soot. Compression measurement showed its actual absence. All this, of course, was a harbinger of either the death of the engine, or the complete looseness of the pistons. On reflection, we decided on a serious and difficult step - replacing the engine. And entrusting this business has become more expedient to the service. An analysis of the establishments closest to us led us to the Circus, to the Jidosha Motors company. There, the price tag for the contract engine was acceptable, and they promised to do it in 1 day. As for the unit for which we changed our deceased, it is from the compact hatchback Corolla II, with a mileage of approx. 54000 km and manufactured in 1994. That is, in fact, he lay motionless for 16 years. To be honest, the first sensations were that we were changing the awl for soap. But there is nowhere to retreat, the decision has already been made and the car is already in service. The engine itself cost us 28,000 rubles. Plus, we replaced some consumables, filled in Mobil 1 oils, as well as new antifreeze and fluid in the power steering. All together, with discounts, we got 35,829 rubles. So, at 213690 km of the car's life, its "heart" was transplanted. The first thing we noticed was almost no vibrations. Which of course put us in euphoria for a short time. But after the first thousand, it passed, because. there are no special differences in dynamics between the previous and our unit. Except the cost has gone up.
We also note again the leaky left rack and the withdrawal of the car to the right. In general, this run machine leaves mixed feelings. Like the joy of replacing units and kind of sadness from old age approaching at a gigantic rate and with it senile problems. From what feelings outweigh, the fate of our machine will be decided. But while we ride...
