Replacing candles with 3VZ-FE. — Toyota Camry, 3.0 liter, 1994
Special for stallion
During the regulation www.drive2.ru/cars/toyota…/288230376151775799/#post , among other things, I also replaced the spark plugs.
I put the original platinum from Denso 1670r. for a set of 6 pieces. The previous set departed more than 60,000 km.
According to the technology, the replacement of candles on my "Sturmovik" is carried out with the removal of the intake manifold, which in turn leads to additional movements =)
We have to change the manifold gasket 17176-62030 .
Disconnect a bunch of uncomfortable tubes and hoses = (
Add antifreeze later, because part of it will inevitably spill out when the manifold is removed.
In general, it’s not buzzing.
But if you suffer for a long time, something will turn out. Through experience, I found the simplest solution.
It takes me 30-40 minutes, without removing the collector =)
To do this, you will need
Wrench "14",
spark plug head with rubber ring inside,
Two cardan shafts
Two small extensions
One long
and "ratchet"
For convenience, with a key of 14, it is necessary to unscrew the pipeline coming from the hydraulic booster from the manifold.
Shown by the arrow in the photo
...and put aside.
Now you can pull out the BB wires from the candle wells.
It is more convenient to climb to the candle of the fifth cylinder here
The algorithm for unscrewing the candles of the first and third cylinders is approximately as follows:
First, a short extension cord with a candle head is lowered into the candle well
And then a long extension cord and a ratchet are attached to them through the cardan.
By the way, I almost forgot, for greater convenience, you need to disconnect and remove the hook for dismantling the engine from the collector. Arrow in the previous photo.
Voila!
Here is the candle!
To replace the candle on the fifth cylinder (the most hemorrhagic), instead of a long extension we put a short one and instead of one cardan you need two.
and twist, twist, twist ... Gently and slowly, so as not to accidentally wrap the wrong thread.
There is one small but very important nuance.
When screwing in the candles, do not insert them too much into the candle head.
Just to hold on and not fall out of it
Otherwise, you will have to sweat pulling out the head stuck on the candle from the well, or unscrew the candle again and start all over again =)
Putting everything back together and on the road! =)

It's on your Four Runner that the motor stands along and changing candles is not a problem there. =)
One good thing is that you don’t have to change them so often. However, with my runs, this is not so rare =)
yes, it’s gemorno, of course,
on my motor the whole procedure is much simpler)
and there are fewer candles :)
I like Alphas, both old and young, only outwardly like it. It hurts that their quality is not constant.
hahaha, come on, even two hours of hemorrhoids would pay off with months of adrenaline!
Three out of six change without problems, in 5 minutes =)
It's good that it's not some kind of twin spark, like Alfa Romeo, with its two candles per cylinder =)
Damn, you also have 6 cylinders, horror. it changes to 4S in 10 minutes, though I myself didn’t put my hand to this and thank God)
thx for info. and then the entire collector pulled out just for the sake of candles
Hmm, this is a trabla. Unfortunately, I do not have all the tools from this list. So I go - 3 candles are new, 3 are old
