Bump Update - Toyota 4Runner, 3.0L, 1995

Finally, the day came when the peacefully dozing cars by the side of the road began to shake and wake up more and more with shrill panic screams of security systems because of the curved shock sensors at the moment our Runner passed next to them. Coincided with this and my father's fatigue from patching up new burnouts in the exhaust system.

Thanks to our acquaintance with one of the members of the Drive2 community, who, on occasion, offered us a business card from his friend, a master specializing in convection systems, we decided to replace all the elements of this system that had become unusable for our Runner.

Having phoned this master, we found out that the cost of materials and work for the circle suits us quite well, and the workshop is located not so far from us, we agreed to carry out the corresponding work and arrived at the appointed hour to his repair zone.
Along the way, however, we had to wander a little, because my father did not really understand the road (this time he was acting as a navigator) and at first we turned in the wrong place, and then we drove into the wrong garage complex.
But mobile communication is a damn convenient thing (provided that the phone is charged, the account is replenished, and there is a network, of course). As a result, after a short wandering, we nevertheless arrived at the place, one of the landmarks of which was one who was thoroughly prepared for battles for the directions, obviously, who had repeatedly participated in them, and in these, obviously, he was repeatedly wounded, but he was successfully healed. the owner, as well as, as it turned out later, the off-road warrior who was repeatedly awarded for military merit.
This landmark turned out to be quite bright in practice. Agree, Jeep Cherokee Pickup is already an unusual phenomenon in Moscow GSK, in addition, the bright scarlet color makes this car quite noticeable, and even more noticeable if this scarlet pickup is put on huge 33 wheels with a corresponding lift.
After waiting a little for the owner of this warrior and, in fact, for the mini service, after he rolled Chevy Lumina out of the repair zone, we rolled our apparatus into the pit.

A short inspection condemned the elements of the bulge system welded by the previous owners (precisely welded, since there was not a single joint from the pants to the cut of the exhaust system under the rear bumper). Having prepared all the necessary new elements of the Ranner exhaust system, the owner set to work.
To begin with, armed with a grinder, he shredded the old system so that it would be more convenient to amputate it.
Then he hung up the new rear part of the convex system to its regular place, attached the middle part to it ... and since the previous owners had canceled all the flanges, he, having picked up a piece of pipe of the appropriate diameter, needed for the length, welded it and the new flange to the outlet of the pants a little further than the oxygen sensor, and attached the middle part to it.
The result is a neat and very well-positioned exhaust system. After I started the engine, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the car is - so thoroughly I have become accustomed to the sound of a punctured convection system.

Earlier, the loss of a bolt of one of the silent blocks of the front gearbox was discovered. The nut, however, remained in the cup, but the bolt and the plate (since they are on the bottom, of course, they stayed somewhere on the road. We bought the bolt, of course, but only our master told us about the plate, when at the same time we asked him to fix it We did not find such a large washer in our stocks, we decided to put a rather large, but still not large enough washer.So the gearbox is, of course, fixed, but it will be necessary to find a suitable washer in the near future in exchange for the lost cymbal, because if the silent block breaks off, then in the absence of this cymbal there will be nothing to keep its clip from excessive sagging ... however, this is no worse than driving without a bolt of fastening of this very silent block ...

Leaving the garage (repair zone), I hit a small snowdrift with my rear wheels ... And since my tires are far from winter (Yoka Geo AT), and the movement further along the snowdrift was still a little upward, then ... the wheels helplessly stirred the snow without moving the car ... But now I could safely turn on the front axle without fear of bad distortion of the gearbox and unauthorized contacts of moving parts (cardan in particular) with fixed suspension elements. As soon as the bridge was connected by me, Runner seemed to have forgotten that he had just helplessly polished a hole in a harmless snowdrift, and as if playfully jumped this snowdrift across the non-slip terrain and began to tamp the snow behind it, taking me to the site away from the garage.

By the way, with all-wheel drive it is very pleasant to drive in a corner on a snowy road ... I felt it at the Moscow Ring Road junction when I decided to get ahead of the KAMAZ climbing the loop with difficulty along the left lane covered with snow surfacing a couple of centimeters ... , a car with all-wheel drive turned on essentially becomes dull, as if you were dragging at least Oka in tow, or even a VAZ eight (there was such an experience).

Actually, about the movement along the outline ... The car writes an arc, confidently standing on the trajectory without hinting at drift or skidding (unless, of course, fanatically push the sneakers into the floor). At the same time, no less confidently, clearly without slipping, it pulls in a spiral upward (remember, we are talking about climbing the bridge along the "standard" MKAD interchange. In general, pleasantly confidently, energetically and clearly. It will be interesting to try a more free ride in a similar situation ... in this case it was absolutely dangerous to take risks, since there was an interstitial flow going along the outer arcs of this junction.

So ... We are with a new exhaust system (in the cabin you can speak without raising your voice at a speed of about 90-100 and with intensive acceleration. True, now the hum of the gearbox has become clearer (you need to change it ... though I don't know yet the main pair or the bearings of the tail end), as well as some kind of thud in the engine (hydraulic lifters or valves) was heard ... the mechanics seemed to say that it was not catastrophic.
