A few updates ... - Toyota Corolla, 1.6 liter, 2004
Quite a lot of time has passed since the moment when I wrote something about my ToyCore here. Well, why write about her ...
1. TO 110000 thousand.
In terms of after-sales service, Toyota is boring to disgrace. Recently did this. Changed the oil, filters and finally the alternator belt.
Given the original origin of the last MOT along with all the consumables cost me 5400r. of which 1.4tyr. oil (+ free replacement) and 2.5 - belt.
The most interesting thing is that I am 100% sure that without any consequences I could increase the maintenance interval to 15 thousand. or there 20. But in the case of TO - I'm a pedant.
2. Suspension and steering
I asked the master to look at the suspension and steering. By the way, the master of the Corolla Hatch English assembly.
He says that the steering play is three times less than on his car with a run of 40k. + Slightly worn stabilizer bushings. Will order.
3. Brakes.
I had a problem with them. I completely forgot to change the brakes when I last changed the discs/pads. From this, or by coincidence, I began to wedge the rear brake caliper. The trip to the site of the existentialist upset - a new collection of the original 10600r. I don’t feel sorry for my girl, of course, but why cost so much there ?!
The decision was not long in coming. Decided to call the disassembly. And then, miraculously, a disassembly was found, on which there is exactly like my car, and even the end of 2007 with a ridiculous mileage of 12000k. Call to find out how much the caliper will cost. The answer is 1500k. assembled. As a result, I also bought them for 2k. front. If you change - so in a circle. Upon a detailed examination of them, everything worked out - along the guides, each of the 4 calipers went like clockwork, all the rubber bands were ideal. In general — joy and nothing more.
As a load, they were given a set of pads with 10% wear - the original ones. I turned to this because. the ones I had creaked like a dorm bed under a two-body load. For 3k. The guys from R.service also installed all this on my car, while changing the brakes. LiquiMoly took the brakes. Then, during a trip to Bryansk, we got out with a local member of Drive2 and part-time my very good friend Andrei proc3nt to paint my caliper in Zholty, so, with nothing to do. I bought Motip heat-resistant paint and painted it in 2 layers, after carefully sanding them. It turned out great - with such disks as I have, it looks good. Not bad.
4. Rubber
During a trip to Bryansk, I noticed that at high speed the rubber of the car sags on the waves and the wheels rub against the rear arch, although this only happens after a speed of 160.
So if I don’t change the car for the next season, I want to change summer slippers .
5. Springs
I want to find springs that are clamped with a screw for budget ride height control. Still, I’m not ready to completely abandon the off-road capabilities of my typewriter, which, by the way, is in no way inferior to the capabilities of SUVs.
Here are the pies. Lastly, a couple of photos taken on the phone (well, I'm not a photographer =)
Issue price: 15,000 ₽ Mileage: 113,000 kmWell, yes — I meant the alternator drive belt … =) Thank you for pointing out those. illiterate wording =) Corrected =)
well, there are cheap ones)) let's say 15 thousand, but of course they have the quality corresponding to the cost =), well, many put and somehow drive). Well then, we are waiting for your version, what did you find there)

Yes, and as always turned out to be right … That's what I think about the suspension thread to do. I want to be able to low / high =)
