The other day, a friend said that in our city they did a tire fitting with nitrogen pumping. He tried it and he liked the effect. I decided to try it too.

As you know, the main components of air are nitrogen and oxygen - respectively 78 and 21 percent. Nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, so they pass through the tire walls more easily and quickly, forming a leak. The disadvantage of compressed air, which is a mixture of these two gases, is the high chemical activity of oxygen, which oxidizes the metal elements of the wheel and thus reduces its strength.

When tires are inflated with nitrogen, the pressure in them becomes more stable. It is usually recommended to check this indicator once every two weeks. The use of nitrogen makes it possible to carry out such an operation three times less often. By filling the car tires with it, their grip on the road improves. Compared to air, which is usually strongly affected by changes in temperature and pressure, nitrogen in its pure form has increased damping properties, that is, the wheel acts as an additional shock absorber.
