Bodywork, part 1 - Toyota Corolla, 4.4 liter, 1980

In general, body work on Toyota was scheduled for last fall. Required to digest thresholds, rear arches, and so, in trifles. Then I was still a green noob in working with metal parts of the body, which, in addition, were pretty rusty. However, nothing has changed in a year. I also can't do anything. But I read a running kilometer of other people's logbooks, outlined the main points in a notebook, which I sometimes look through after the evening news. Along the way, with the study of theory, I was waiting for the release of the master welder, who promised to give a second youth to the rusty body of the Corolla. After waiting for almost a year and spending the equivalent of the cost of a welding machine on calls to an ever-busy master, I decided to change the welding service provider:
We cut off rusty arches and thresholds ...

…and change to a new one (arches - Ford Escort Mk-3, thresholds - Dyadya Vanya Za 0.5 Customs)

In the trunk was welded a basin for washing clothes. We thought that it would no longer be needed (since buying a washer on credit is not a problem these days) and the basin was cut off ...

... the hole was welded up with a stolen sign "Movement of horse-drawn vehicles is prohibited" (no one will look from below anyway) ...

... and in a basin we will soar our feet on cold winter evenings

Under the "shumka" sometimes there are unpleasant surprises in the form of through corrosion (perhaps these are mouse holes!)

The cat is skeptical about our work

I would like to add that the former owner of the car was a very good car owner and periodically carried out anti-corrosion measures. It is only thanks to this that the body is in such a vigorous (for its age) condition. Thank you, namesake. Help, #$%@$, with the documents! :)

Why did you cut off the basin? it doesn’t seem to be rotten… where are you planning the wheel? Or are you expanding the tank?
And what exactly did Uncle Vanya do? in a cut is it possible?

As for the basin, the same question (this is not good). where is the wheel? Ali will be hard cramps? And how did they implement the response (inner part of the arch?)

This is a hatch-dokatka Mona to tie to any corner.
But if you uproot, then you could shove the fuel tank into the trough.
Is he down here?

Why do I need a spare? I won't ride it on the streets. And where I will be, all the same, one spare tire will not do. You need at least 4 :)
The inner part of the arch turned out to be intact, only the outer part rotted. The outer one was replaced, and the inner one will be welded to it from the back.
Uncle Vanya just arched the new rapids. They are normal from the bottom side, and outside like tyunig :)
I threw out my native tank. I will cook a small one, made of aluminum. I will fix it under the bottom, according to the regulations, it cannot be in the cabin
And, yes, it will really be a hard cramp :)

Yes, it’s not a problem to measure, but are you sure that we have the same ones? You still have a Soarer, and it is a higher class, and even more.
And your shape is not the same. I did this: I cut off the old one and went in search. I found a shop with bodywork and after rummaging for half an hour I picked up the most suitable one from what is most suitable, trying to figure out a piece of the old arch to the repair kit.

By the way, wouldn't it be difficult to measure the arches? And then I also have rotten ones, but I can find anrial on mine.

Thank you

I measured it :) From the bottom 75 cm, to the top point - 35 cm. I hope this will help in some way :)

If it's easy. =)

So this is ... Measure your own? Or how? :)

It is similar in shape, only bend the bottom slightly under the moldings. Thanks anyway. =)
