Frame project — logbook Toyota Corolla 1980
I made a simple 3D model of a safety cage at my leisure. Decided to put it here for everyone to see and censure.
A few words about the structure itself: I don’t want to make a bunch of different additional struts, firstly it’s more difficult, and secondly, it makes the whole structure heavier. That's why I decided to make it as simple as possible. Such a design, in my opinion, will definitely add rigidity and safety. In my opinion, it also fits well into the framework of Appendix J.
Planned pipe:
- seamless cold-formed 45x3 (or 45x2.5 - if I find it, it's not available anywhere)
Pipe material Steel-20 (it seems to fit into the requirements):
- min. tensile strength 420 N/mm2 (350 N/mm2 required)
- carbon content 0.17…0.24% (max. 0.3% required)
Sketches:
A small movie for accessibility :)
Any comments, suggestions and discussions are welcome.
Issue price: 0 ₽ Mileage: 0 kmWell, it’s not cumbersome yet, compared to what they cook, for example, for a rally ... Of course, you can simplify this design even more, cook not cross over, but put only one diagonal strut, but it will turn out somehow not symmetrical in my opinion ...
ps the estimated weight of such a design, as in the sketches, is about 60 kg
Look here www.mat.fi you will find a lot of interesting things: both about frames, and about your dvigun and during restoration) Good luck
What about doors? The crosspiece should be like? I will also put the frame, dumb at speeds above 80, you can feel the impact well. About how to bend a pipe, there was a thread on drift.com.ua
Yes, I already sent it to the federation, they explained about the doors. I stupidly forgot to draw the crossbar :)
Are you going to cook for yourself, or so far?
Yes, I already bought a pipe. The whole problem is that no one can bend it qualitatively. Now I'm making a pipe bender, I'll bend it myself.
somehow I don’t have a soul for a bolted one ... therefore I want one-piece and, according to application j
, it is possible to bend a thin-walled one qualitatively only on a mandrel pipe bender, and with equipment under 45x2.5 I didn’t find it not only in my city - in the whole republic ... in
general - there are ideas how to bend, I hope by the weekend all the details will already be and I will take the pipe bender close)
