Doing it slowly - logbook Toyota Carib 1990
Visited an electrician. The problem was that some figures from the previous owners managed to make a secret through the main relay for turning on external light. So many wires were wound up (!) - Mom, don't worry ... As a result, three minutes of work with wire cutters and the problem was eliminated. At the same time, I replaced two wires in the braid of the driver's door and the power window on the left worked merrily.
Next is the mechanic. I bought a complete set:
1-timing belt
2-power steering and generator belts
3-crankshaft and camshaft oil seals (2 pcs)
4-pump
5-distributor cover
6-fuel filter
7-timing belt tension roller
8-top radiator pipe
There is an interesting story about the pump. There was no sign of a leak during the run. But the next day, Caribas relaxed in the literal and figurative sense, and in the evening I saw a red spot near the store. In the morning, the stain was already noticeably larger in the garage. Hmm… I didn't have to think for a long time. Water pump!
But there was no time for repairs and antifreeze had to be added. Every day more and more. I bought a water pump in advance, complete with a back cover, and I had it for almost three weeks. But when I gave the car to a specialist, it turned out that the pump was not the same ... There are about ten types of pumps for the 4A motor, depending on the specification and year of manufacture of the motor. I also had a contract engine from COROLLA AE-104, also 4WD. And the funny thing is that the water pump assembly on it is an infrequent thing. The pump itself, please, but assembled with a lid, no, no. The required option was found only outside the regional province! Thanks to a friend that rescued and brought her. By the way, the timing belt and roller also had to be changed ...
