Small repair — logbook Toyota Corolla 1999
Finally got to the service station to replace the silent in the front levers, ball and bearings. Drove the car around 10 am. it turned out that exist.ru comrades cruelly deceived me and I ordered not a "KOYO wheel bearing kit", but just one bearing without seals. I had to urgently go to buy an additional 2 sets of oil seals (I had to take both different ones. Febest on one side? Musashi on the other). A bit unhappy with the extra costs, of course. Picked up the finished car at 6 pm.
I drove, I didn’t recognize the car. Quiet, not rattling with everything you can. Now the knocks in the rear stabilizer are clearly audible. Soon you will have to change the stabilizer bushings (they already have them - polyurethane) and eggs (I put new CTRs in May, but because of the worn bushings they have already been crushed).
I was dissatisfied only with the arrogance of the mechanic regarding the price of the work. As a result, he called me an amount more than the one that was announced earlier, explaining the difficulties in removing the lever. And after my clarifications, he threatened to recalculate everything in general and overestimate the amount even more. Was safely mentally sent on a distant erotic journey. I don't work with him anymore.
I'll take pictures of the installed parts tomorrow.
UPD from 10/11/10
Today I traveled by car with a cold head and realized that nothing has changed significantly in it. It did not become tougher because of the new silents, as my friends assured me (it is understandable: polyurethane only has higher wear resistance than rubber, the rest of the indicators are about the same). There are also frustrations — after the hands of this Kulibin, the steering wheel “left†me. On straight sections of 5 degrees to the left, you have to turn to keep the car level. Before the trip to the service everything was OK.
Silent blocks in their rightful place:
Ball joints please with the absence of knocks and noises ... yet ...
UPD from 10/12/10
Today I replaced silent blocks in jet rods, those that are attached to the body. There were no problems. how to change the rubber bands on the hub — for me a huge mystery. More precisely, it’s not a mystery, but I don’t want to remove the hub. Are there other ways?
Another disappointment - I ordered stabilizer bushings not for my car =(( I will have to re-order =((
Oh yes, this is not the only disorder. I saw that the left transverse link of which the toe-in of the rear wheels is regulated looks like a rocker. Conclusion - for replacement =((
UPD from 10/28/10
Today I finished with polyurethane rubber bands, changing the last pair in the rear hubs. Invented a simple puller:
This is how it looked in the process of work:
I hung the car by 20 cm and put a spare wheel under the wheel, but it was still uncomfortable, I barely took a picture. Reminds me of the Kama Sutra point 69 - the car is on top =)))
