Snow… — Toyota Altezza, 2.0 liter, 2001
The first snow is expected on Wednesday. Here I sit thinking whether to go by car or not. On summer tires it’s somehow scary, but without a car it’s cold and sad. I hope that the snow will fall and melt immediately, and the crust on the road will not have time to form. Winter tires should arrive by the end of the week.
In general, it’s a little scary, everyone scares me when driving in winter, I seem to have learned to slow down in advance and smoothly.
Any car in winter on slippery asphalt behaves somewhat differently, full, front-wheel drive, including rear-wheel drive
how is this for what? because in the summer the car behaves like this, and in the winter it will be different
oh, I don’t envy you ... still getting used to rear-wheel drive
if the car is the first, then what is there to get used to?
Thank you for your support :) I have an automatic. Should I shift to neutral before braking? Or is it mechanical?

Damn, maybe the truth is not to drive until the rubber comes. What does "get used to" mean?
The devil is not so terrible ... The main thing is not to worry and drive carefully. Do not accelerate, slow down in advance smoothly and preferably in neutral :)
But if you are not sure, it is better to wait for the rubber
so that it can skid in corners ... and you shouldn’t even ride on summer sales ...

Thanks for the support. I think tomorrow I will go by car, but on Thursday by public transport. I don’t want to risk ... the machine first of all :)
Get used to the fact that in winter it is not so safe and you can accelerate / brake / turn quickly, as you can do in summer. Especially if this winter is the first one behind the wheel.
About the neutral - this is only for the mechanics, Alsu, and even that is not true))) On the mechanics, you just need to make the most of engine braking, and enter turns only in gear. Well, for special economists - gasoline is not consumed during engine braking, unlike neutral, where idling is supported;)
if there is pain, change your shoes now, don’t wait…
it’s already slippery in the mornings.
