TRD flywheel and Drive Joy clutch — logbook Toyota MR-S 2003
I have long looked after a lightweight flywheel — I wanted either C one or TRD. I won’t talk about the advantages of the device - those who played NFS are aware of it :-)
I was looking for auctions (used) and one day luck smiled at me - a 1zz TRD flywheel appeared on InJapan. I bid up to $200 (excluding shipping costs). Set, the day of the auction is approaching, there is an hour left before completion - we are ahead. I think I’ll go to the shower until the end of the auction (I was going to go to bed), I come - the price has already jumped above 300 bucks. The thought in my head - no *** myself, went to the bathroom :-). Of course, he did not interrupt with his bet, because. it would be expensive.
And then the thought crept into my head - what if someone sells in Russia. I drive the words "TRD", "flywheel", "1zz" into the Yandex line. And I can’t believe my eyes - here it is a photo, a phone, a price tag (very humane). On the same day I contact a person, the next day I transfer money to him and wait ...
Last Friday there was a call from the Zheldorekspeditsiya transport company - the girl said in a pleasant voice that I had received a package from the capital of our Motherland and 600 rubles from me :-) Immediately after work (on Friday I work until 16.00) I break into Tomsk (in there is no representative office in our city, and they do not deliver). As luck would have it, I got stuck in a traffic jam… plus I had to look for a building… in general, I was late — they work until 18.00 and only on weekdays. Among this week, I also didn’t manage to get to them (I have a working day from Mon-Thurs until 17.17), and the week itself turned out to be busy. Today I made an attempt #2, which ended successfully.
As I came from Tomsk — immediately to the garage to inspect the acquisition. Washed, cleaned and on the scales. The weight turned out to be about 4.5 kg, which is almost half as light as stock. I didn't forget to post the result.
Clutch (disk and basket) bought in the summer. On the advice of aka-mazai chose the company "Drive Joy" - fully consistent with the original from "Toyota". Once I was looking through the Drome and found an advertisement for the sale in Vladivostok of a completely new set at an attractive price. I contacted the seller - it turned out to be the owner of the Celica T23 (available on the Drive).
Well, I also decided to buy a clutch release - to change, so complete! Actually, the mileage of the car is less than 70,000 km, but I do it for myself, so I will put everything together so as not to climb later.
I plan to carry out the work after I figure out the brakes. Naturally, I will write about the results.
And today my insurance agent called (Vika, hello to you) - to remind you that this weekend the term of the OSAGO policy ends. After all, I have had MR-Ska for a year now. 1940 rub. - and a new policy for a year is in the glove box.

it will be hard to drive not from the flywheel but from the ceramic clutch;)
Hello :-) I think he exaggerated a little. I found out from several drivers (who set it up) - everyone is happy and they don’t notice such a drawback. So put it, the Japanese would not buy garbage :-)
